Monthly Robotics Club Meeting Coincides With Statewide Kickoff

The county’s 4H Robotics Club will meet on Tuesday, January 31, at the Yalobusha Co. Extension Office. The program will be the Youth Robot Rally, which is the annual robotics kick-off around the state. Robotics is still accepting new members! Contact the Extension Service at 675-2730 for more information.


Computer Basics Class Offered At Extension Service On Feb. 7

A computer basics class is scheduled Tuesday, February 7, from 1:30 – 3:30 at the Yalobusha Co. Extension Office. This free class will cover basic concepts and is ideal if you are new to using computers; wonder what people mean when they say the cloud, Windows, ISP, or app; or perhaps just want to know more about how computers work.  Call the Yalobusha County Extension Office by Monday, February 6,  5 p.m. to register. 


VFW Schedules Weekend Activities

  Activities at VFW Post 4100’s Post Home for the weekend will include bingo on Friday night, January 27. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and play will begin a 7.

  Providing music for the regular Saturday night dance on January 28 will be Bobby Hood and Sandra Martin. The music begins at 8 and concludes at midnight. Everyone is invited to attend both these events. The Post Home  is located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley.


Officers Will Be Installed At Month York Rite Bodies’ Meeting

  The Water Valley York Rite Bodies will have their monthly meetings Thursday, January 26, beginning with a pot luck supper at 6 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend and observe the installation of new officers for the coming year. All officers to be installed and members of the Commandery are requested to be in full Commandery Uniform.


 Pickin’ Shed Offers  Weekend Music

  The Pickin’ Shed will host live music Friday night, January 27, at 7p.m.  The Ellis Family, The House Band, and other local entertainers will take the stage.

The action continues on Saturday night, January 28, at 7 p.m. with karaoke. Everyone is invited to attend the event, you can take the stage or just enjoy the fellowship. On both nights a pot luck meal will be served at 6 p.m., so bring your favorite dish and come join the fellowship.  Donations accepted on Friday night and there is a $5 cover charge on Saturday night. Alcohol is prohibited.
