All City of Water Valley offices and departments will be closed Wednesday, July 4 for a state holiday. Wednesday’s garbage route will run with Thursday’s garbage route.
The 28th annual Stewart reunion will be held Saturday, July 7, in the Masonic Temple, located at 199 Champion Circle, just off Highway 7 South, in Water Valley. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a “pot luck” dish to share at noon. “We hope to see you there,” stated Patricia Pratt. A benefit car wash for Betty Crawford will be held Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. until at Regions Bank on Central Street in Water Valley. The benefit is sponsored by the House of Prayer Church.

Rally Set For July 14
The Tri-Lakes Fairgrounds Association will host their 2007 political rally on Saturday, July 14, starting at 6:pm with state and local candidates. Candidates from all parties will speak. The rally will be held in the City Park under the gazebo. Concessions, including food and drinks will be available. All candidates and supports are welcome. The Youth of Sylva Rena will be having a car wash on Saturday, July 7 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Renesant Bank. The funds raised will be used to send the youth to summer camp. Please drop by and show your support for the Sylva Rena Youth.
Regular Slated Meeting
Valley City Lodge No. 402 F&AM will hold its regular stated communication on Thursday, July 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. “We urge you to support your local lodge,” stated Freddie McDougal, WM.
Meeting July 10
Water Valley Chapter No. 5, Order of Eastern Star, will hold its next regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, July 10, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. Refreshments will be an ice cream supper. “All members are encouraged to attend,” stated Katie Partain, Worthy Matron.
VFW Bingo will be played Friday night, July 6. Come join VFW Post 4100 for a fun-filled night of Bingo at their post home, located at 11535, Highway 315, west of Water Valley. The building opens at 5:30 p.m., sales begin at 6 p.m., and the first of 24 games starts at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
It’s party time at VFW Post 4100, Water Valley. There is a live band every Saturday night, and this Saturday, July 7, featured will be the City Limits Band. Music begins at 8 p.m. and plays until midnight. Join us for listening or dancing to Country Music at the Post Home, located at 11535 Hwy. 315, Water Valley.
