The O’Tuckolofa School reunion will be held Saturday, August 11, from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The reunion will be held in the O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church. Food will be furnished. Class members are invited to bring family and friends.
The annual reunion of the descendants of Henry P. and Nancy Barnes Parker will be held on Sunday, August 12, in the American Legion Building in Calhoun City. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring food and soft drinks or tea for a potluck lunch to be served at noon.

The Yalobusha County Historical Society, Inc., will meet at 2 p. m. Thursday, August 16 in the fellowship hall of the Methodist Church in Coffeeville. The guest speaker will be Mrs. Opal Turner Brown of Vaiden. She will review her book “Against the Darkness of the Night,” a story based on the lives of her great-grandparents during the Civil War period. The public is invited.
A Hunter Education Class will be held August 18 in the Multi-Purpolse Building at Coffeeville from 8 a.m. until. To attend, you must pre-register by calling 563-6330. All students must bring their correct address, phone number, and Social Security number. Students are asked to make their own lunch arrangements and bring their own snacks.
North Mississippi Hospice of Oxford will be having a monthly Grief Support Group on Tuesday, August 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Azalea Gardens in Oxford.
On Wednesday, August 22, from noon to 1 p.m. at Azalea Gardens in Oxford. Bro. Larry Wicker will be the guest speaker. The topic will be, “Grieving and Anger”. Anyone interested may attend. Lunch will be provided.
The 2006-07 Water Valley School annuals have arrived. Annuals may be picked up from Mrs. King in Room 33 at the High School. “We do have some extras available if you did not pre-pay. The cost is $50,” stated Mrs. King.
Water Valley Chapter No. 5, Order of Eastern Star, will holds its next regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 14, in the Masonic Temple on Champioin Circle. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. “We encourage all members to attend,” states Katie Partain, Worthy Matron.
Local Gymnast Jordan Lowery and Destiney Riley will be among gymnists who will be on the competitive team presenting an exhibition in honor of National Gymnastics Day, August 11, at 10 a.m. The team is from Morgan Gymnastics, Batesville. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this exhibition.

VFW Post 4100 has cancelled the gospel singing scheduled for August 12th due to an illness in the band.
“Please accept our apology for your inconvenience and watch for our next scheduled Gospel Singing,” stated Commander Joe Gross.
VFW bingo will be played Friday night, August 10. Come join VFW Post 4100 for a fun-filled night of bingo at their Post Home, located at 11535 Hwy. 315, Water Valley. The building opens at 5:30 p.m., sales start at 6 p.m. and the first of 24 games begins at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
It’s party time at VFW Post 4100, Water Valley. A live band is present each Saturday night and featured Saturday, August 11, will be the Hog Wild Country Band. Music begins at 8 p.m. and plays until midnight. “Join us for listening or dancing to Country Music at the Post Home, located at 11535 Hwy. 315, west of Water Valley,” states Commander Joe Gross.
