Yalobusha General Hospital and Yalobusha County Nursing Home Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) will have a Yard Sale October 4, 5, and 6. If you have any clean, usable items that are cluttering up your closets, garages, or attics, the Pink Ladies will be glad to pick them up. There will be a Red One Rook Tournament at Cossar State Park in the Cossar’s Visitor Center. This event will be held Saturday, August 25, beginning at 6 p.m. Please call Cossar State Park to pre-register, Cossar State Park, (662) 623-7356.
There will be a benefit program for Margaret (Nancy) Tedford on August 25, at 6 p.m. The event will be held at Everdale M.B. Church in Water Valley.
Tedford has lung cancer and your presence and help will be greatly appreciated, according to a church spokesman.
Rev. Phillip Brackett serves as pastor of Everdale and the Outreach and Missionary Society is sponsoring the event.
All-Sport passes are now on sale at Water Valley High School. Prices are as follows: Students, $27; Adults, $52.
To assure that your pass is ready before the first home football game, you must purchase it before August 24. However, there is no deadline for purchasing a pass.
The Pine Valley School reunion will be held Saturday, September 15th. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish to help with the pot luck lunch. Former students and their families, former teachers and their families, friends, community members and everyone is invited to attend the reunion.

The descendants of William Henry and Almedia Joyner Burns will hold their annual reunion, Saturday, September 9, at Enid Dam, Yalobusha County, beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until. The reunion will have a new meeting place, a pavilion at the south end of the dam, near Persimmon Hill.
Follow the signs on the Dam. Please bring a covered dish, invite your relatives, and come and enjoy a day of fun and fellowship. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. For more details call Bill Burns, (662) 563-9888. “To access our family history site, contact hrburns@hotmail.com” states Mr. Burns.
St. Cyr Commandry No. 6 will hold it’s next stated meeting on Thursday, August 23, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. “Please support your Commandry by making a special effort to attend,” stated Greg Dykes, Commander.
It’s party time at VFW Post 4100, Water Valley. There is a live band every Saturday. This Saturday, August 25, featured will be Danny Sexton’s Band. Music begins at 8 p.m. and plays until midnight.
