Green Goshen C.M.E. Church will have their fall revival services October 3 through October 5, beginning each night at 7:30. Evangelists for the week will be Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor of Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church, located in Mount Providence.
“Everyone is cordially invited to attend these revival services,” stated Pastor Cherodrick Jeffries and the Green Goshen family. “Let us revive our roots to claim our heritage,” concluded Rev. Jeffries.
The First Christian Church of Water Valley invites all past and present members and friends to join them at 10 a.m. this Sunday morning, October 7, for homecoming! The worship celebration will include worshipful congregational singing, special music, communion, and a special presentation by the church’s newly formed Sign Choir. Guest preacher will be Bro. Ed Pannell from Verona. Ed ministered at First Christian Church from 1962-1963. He is now a part of the Verona Christian Church.
“Following worship celebration we will enjoy a delicious pot-luck Fellowship Dinner,” stated Bro. David Freeman, pastor.
On Sunday night at 6:30 on homecoming Sunday, there will be a service of special music and testimonies.
“Everyone is invited to join us on this special day! The church is located at the corner of North Main and South Court Streets, across from the City Park,” concluded Bro. Freeman.
Sanders Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have their pastor aid program October 7, beginning at 3 p.m. Pastor Eric Nelson of Chapter Hill Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the message for that day. Program Guide is Sis. Ann Matthews.

The Bayson Chapel M.B. Church family would like to invite you to come and worship with them on their 53rd Lord Acre/Harvest Day Program October 7, beginning at 2 p.m.
Minister Jerome Battle, along with his church family, St. Paul M.B. Church, will be guests for the evening. Lunch will be served following the regular service, which begins at 11 a.m.

Sand Springs Presbyterian Church will host its annual homecoming on Sunday, October 7, beginning at 11 a.m. Worship service will be led by the Rev. Wayne Sheffield from Olive Branch. During the service World Communion Sunday will be observed. A pot luck lunch will follow the service on the church grounds. Ice and picnic supplies will be furnished.
The church is located in the Orwood Community in Lafayette County at 267 CR 354. It was founded in 1850 and the present church was built in 1854 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Those who are unable to attend may still send donations to the church, or the Orwood Cemetery Fund, c/o Tommy Webb, 258 CR 354, Oxford, MS 38655.
Homecoming Services will be held at the Water Valley Church of God on October 7, beginning at 10 a.m. The church is located on Highwy 315 toward Batesville. Guest minister will be Rev. James McKeithen from McClain.
The service will include preaching, singing and dinner on the grounds. Everyone is invited to attend. If any local singers would like to come and sing, call 473-4592. A love offering will be taken. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish if possible.
Hopewell M.B. Church will have celebrate their Usher’s Day Program Sunday, October 7, with regular services beginning at 8:45 a.m. Elder Lee V. Matthews, Usher President Brenda Armstrong, and the Hopewell Church Family inivites everyone to attend this special program.
Dr. John S. Powers will be holding a conference at Sylva Rena Baptist Church on Friday, October 12, and Saturday, October 13 from 6 – 9:15 p.m., and Satuday morning, October 13, from 8 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. There will be breaks and refreshments available. Dr. Powers is the author of The Body Life Journey: Guiding Believers into Ministry and Redefining Church Membership. Bro. Calvin Miller, pastor, invites everyone to attend this one of a kind conference. Booklets will be available to purchase.
The annual Lovejoy Church Harvest Supper will be held on Sunday, October 14, at 4 p.m. at the church in Panola County. All attending should bring a covered dish for a picnic on the grounds. Everyone is invited for an afternoon of worship, fellowship, and telling stories about families and old times.
Once again the Spring Hill North Church Family will be celebrating their annual Women’s Day Program on Sunday, October 14, beginning at 3 p.m. “We are looking forward to this occasion, and hope that you will come out and be a part of the fellowship,” stated Rev. Sammy Townes, pastor.
Oak Grove C.M.E. Church will have their youth day program Oct. 14, beginning at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Gregory Henderson from First Pleasant Grove M.B. Church, in Gore Springs. Snacks will be provided after the program. “Come out and help us lift up the name of Jesus on this day,” invites Pastor Michael Stephens and the Oak Grove Church Family. The program is being sponsored by the youth department, which Denise Harris serves as president.
Once again the Spring Hill North Church family will be celebrating their annual Women’s Day Program on Sunday, October 14, begining at 3 p.m. Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. Service will be Minister Lorriane Hubbard from Morning Star Baptist Church of Memphis, and the afternoon guest speaker will be Minister Stephine Forrest from Abundant Harvest Church of God in Christ, Charleston.
Saturday, October 20
The Choir Day Program that was scheduled for October 20th, at 6 p.m. in Miles Memorial CME Church has been postponed to a later date. “The new date will be announced,” stated Sis. Cynthia Shegog, Choir President.
Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church will have their annual Choir Day Program Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 6 p.m. “We are asking all choirs, groups, and soloists to sing two selections of your choice,” says Sis. Cynthia Shegog, Choir President.
“Please come out as we sing praises to our Lord, for He is worthy to be praised,” concluded Sis. Shegog.
Union Hill CME Church will have their Harvest Day Program October 28th, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Walter Hoof of Memphis will be the guest speaker. “Everyone is invited to attend this special service,” states Pastor James Johnson and Sponsor Florine Holmes.
