Herald Columnist Set To Speak
At Historical Society
The Yalobusha County Historical Society, Inc., will meet at 2 p. m. Thursday, Nov. 15. Mr. Charles Cooper, popular columnist for The North Mississippi Herald, will speak on “Entertainment – As We Knew It.” The public is invited to all meetings of the Society.
VFW Bingo Action Planned Friday
VFW Bingo will be played Friday night, Nov. 16. Everyone is invited to join VFW Post 4100 for a fun-filled night of bingo at their Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, Water Valley. The building opens at 5:30 p.m., sales begin at 6 p.m., and the first of 24 games starts at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
Come Shake A Leg At The VFW Dance
It’s party time at VFW Post 4100, Water Valley. A live band is featured each Saturday night and featured on Nov. 17th will be the Hog Wild Country Band. Music begins at 8 p.m. and plays until Midnight. “Join us for listening or dancing to country music at the Post Home, located at 11535 Hwy. 315, west of Water Valley,” stated Commander Joe Gross.
VFW Announces Thanksgiving Dinner
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4100, will have their Thanksgiving Dinner Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Post Home. All members are urged to attend. “We will be honoring our Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy Contestants at that time,” stated Commander Joe Gross. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. The Post Home is located at 11535 Hwy. 315, west of Water Valley.
VFW Plans Monthly Meeting
Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4100 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary’s monthly meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend, as your presence is needed.

Masonic Meeting Includes Pot Luck Supper
St. Cyr Commandery No. 6 will hold its next stated meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. There will be a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m., Bring your family and enjoy some good food and fellowship.
The regular meeting will begin at 7:30. A club spokesman would also like to remind everyone that the November and December meetings will be on the third Thursday due to the holidays. Please support your Commander by making a special effort to attend,” stated Greg Dykes, Commander.
Pink Ladies Will Host Thanksgiving Sale
The Yalobusha General Hospital and Yalobusha County Nursing Home Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) annual Thanksgiving bake sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, in front of Larson’s Piggly Wiggly. The Pink Ladies state that they hope to see you there. All proceeds go to help the hospital and nursing home.
Post Office Announces Changed Hours
The U.S. Post Office in Water Valley is presently closed from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday of each week. This closing enables the post office to stay open on Wednesday afternoons until 4:30 p.m.
This change replaced the schedule of being open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday until 4:30 each day and Wednesday until noon.
