Friday, December 7

This Friday night, December 7, from 7 p.m., until 7 a.m. Saturday morning, there will be an All-Night Prayer Meeting at Cornerstone Church, 606 Wise Street, Water Valley.

“All churches are invited to be a part of this night of prayer, as we pray against the legalization of beer in our community. We will be praying blessings on our churches and business district,” states Rev. R. W. Moffett. “We will also be praying for revival in the hearts of people and that our nation will come back to its Christian roots and stand for Biblical morality again,” he continued. “Let us pray together for an end to the Iraq War and bring our troops home. Hope to see you there. Pray as long as you can, But Pray,” concluded Rev. Moffett.

Sunday, December 9

Oak Grove CME Church will have their Youth Pre-Christmas Program Sunday, December 9, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest speaker for this program will be Pastor Gwendeolyn Nelson of Royston Chapel Church, Ashland.

The pastor and members of Oak Grove cordially invite everyone to come and worship with them during this special service. “Please come and help us lift up the name of Jesus Christ for truly He is worthy to be praised,” states pastor Michael Stephen and the youth department sponsor.

The First United Methodist Church in Water Valley (next to Post Office) invites everyone to come for a spaghetti fundraiser on December 9, from noon to 3 p.m. This event will support a foreign mission trip to Nicaragua in June, 2008.

Donations will be greatly appreciated. There will also be miscellaneous house items such as candles, what-nots, etc., for sale. Supporting this foreign mission trip will allow the congregation to fulfill the Great Commission given to His churches and gives us the blessing of allowing the Lord to use us to change the lives of others, said a church spokesman.
