Thursday, March 6

    The  First United Methodist Church of Water Valley cordially invites everyone to attend this week’s Lenten Luncheon on Thursday at noon.

    This week organizers are pleased to welcome Rev. Roger Howell of Adonai Church, who will bless us with the Word, and Dana Howell will bless us in song.

Saturday, March 8

    Hopewell M.B. Church will have their educational program Saturday, March 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Elder Lee V. Matthews, Sr., pastor, and the church family invite the people of God to come and be a part of this special service.


    Sisters Inspiring Sisters would like to invite all women over the age of 18 to their third SIS Ministry on March 8, beginning at 5 p.m., at the Tiny Care Daycare Center in Coffeeville. The forum will be Women of the Bible and Praying Effectively for the Lost. If you need a babysitter one will be provided, food will be available, and if you need a ride, a car is available at no charge with three days advance notice. Sunday, March 9

    Massey Grove M.B. Church will have an installation service for their new pastor, Rev. Lloyd Anderson, on Sunday, March 9. The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. and will be by Pastor William Spearman of Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church, Benwheeler, Texas.

    The evening service will begin at 3 p.m. and will be by Pastor Harry Eddins of New Zion M.B. Church, Memphis.


    The Chapel Hill Church family will celebrate their pastor’s seven-year anniversary on March 9 beginning at 3 p.m. The church’s pastor is Rev. Eric Nelson. Pastor Nick Reed and the Persimmon M.B. Church family of Enid will be special guests.


    The Bayson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Family will celebrate their pastor and wife’s 19th anniversary on March 9. Morning worship begins at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jerome Battle bringing the message. Lunch will be served. Services will resume at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Newson and his church family leading.


    Massey Grove M.B. Church will have an installation service for their pastor on Sunday, March 9. The morning service, which begins  at 11 a.m., will be held by Pastor William Spearman of Mt. Zion C.E.M. Church of Benwheeler, Texas. The evening service, beginning at 3 p.m., will be by Pastor Larry Eddins of New Zion M.B. Church of Memphis. The service is at Massey Grove, Oakland, and everyone is invited to come and share with them. The pastor is Lloyd Anderson.


    Green Goshen C.M.E. Church will have their Family and Friends Day March 9, beginning at 2:30  p.m. Rev. Robert Griffin, Jr., pastor of Shiloh M.B. Church in BoBo and also of Smith Chapel M.B. Church in Lambert, will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by his church families. Green Goshen’s doors are open each second third and fourth Sundays, beginning with Sunday School at 10 a.m., followed by worship service at 11.


Sylva Rena Baptist Church will be hosting the Associational Men’s Ministry Breakfast Sunday March 9 at 7 a.m. The  guest speaker will be Bro. Truman Scarborough, AMD.  All men and young lads are invited to come and enjoy a good breakfast and fellowship states Mr. Lane True, YBA Men’s Director.


 The Pastor and members of Everdale Missionary Baptist Church invite you to come and celebrate during their annual Family and Friends Day Program.  The program begins at 3 p.m. on March 9. Rev. Thomas Tillman, Pastor of Jackson Chapel Bruce will be guest speaker.  Please come out and help up lift up the name of our Lord and Savior.  Rev. Phillip Brackett is Pastor, Sister Ruth Brackett is program chair.

March 9, 10 and 11

    Pine Grove West Church is having its youth revival March 9, 10 and 11, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. Rev. Sammy Townsend will be the speaker for this revival.


Saturday, March 15

    There will be a Fruits of the Spirit Candle Light Visual Program at Chapel Hill M.B. Church March 15, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Min. Geraldine Booker is the program sponsor.

Sunday, March 16

    Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church will have its Pastor’s Aid Program Sunday, March 16, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Eric Nelson, pastor of Chapel Hill Church, will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by his choir and church family. Guests will also include Favored from Oxford. Sis. Cynthia Shegog, is sponsor of the program.

  Sand Hill FCM Church will have a fundraiser to support construction of a new building for youth group members on Saturday, March 15, starting at 5:30 p.m. This event will be held in The Barn, located on CR 287 on Highway 6 toward Pontotoc. There will be food, an auction, a cake sale, and Fishers of Men and other groups will perform. Anyone interested in volunteering to help set up, cook, or serve should arrive by 3:30 p.m. “Your support of our youth members is greatly apprecaited,” stated Bro. Virgil , Jr.

The Mt. Moriah District Usher Federation will be held in the Mt. Moriah Association Building, located in Coffeeville, Sunday, March 16, beginning at 3 p.m. Minister Woodrow Daniel will bring the message. “All ushers are asked to attend and everyone is invited,” stated Willie Baker, President

Sunday, April 13

  The Green Goshen C.M.E. Church Family is hosting a Four Gospel Writers Program April 13, beginning at 2:30 p.m.  Guests speakers will be: Rev. Adam Tyson, pasor of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church of Water Valley; Rev. James Johnson, pastor of Union Hill C.M.E. Chruch, Water Valley; Rev. Michael Stephens, pastor of Oak Grove C.M.E. Church, Water Valley; and Rev. Brian Davis, pastor of Carr’s Chapel C.M.E. Church, Oakland. “Come one, come all, and let us give God the Praise as these four speakers bring us the word of God for God’s people,” stated Pastor Cherodrick Jeffries.
