Producers, Volunteers Needed For Farmers Market

Last weeks’ weather was beautiful and Yalobusha County farmers are busy getting ready for the 2008 planting season.  Look for the corn crop to be planted soon.

If you are reading this before March 20 at 6:30 pm, there is still time to get to the Yalobusha County Wildlife Tasting Buffet.  The tasting buffet will be held at the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building, and Dr. Sherry Surrette will present the program on “Endangered Species”.  Also, look for a special guest entertainer that the county Soil and Water District has come up with.

There are two upcoming “lunch and learn” programs being held at the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building.  These are:

Signs of Spring

This will be another great program from the University Florist.  Participants will learn how to make tablescapes for use at home, florals for worship, and seasonal outdoor displays.

The Grow Anywhere Garden: Container and Raised Beds

If you have space problems, soil problems or physical problems, or if you just want to learn more about this type of gardening this program is for you! Learn how to create and maintain a “garden” in containers and raised beds. Techniques, design tips and suggested plants to create a beautiful, functional and an economical addition to your garden will be covered in this program.
