Water Valley’s Birthday Just Around The Corner

When we first began planning Founders Day, April 19 seemed a long time away. Now, it’s just around the corner.   

If you have any questions about the events and contests being planned for Founders Day someone on this list should be able to answer it!

Information about the 5K Run sponsored by Renasant Bank is available from Bill Taylor at 473-3743 or BTaylor@Renasant.com. The events include a 5k run, 2-mile walk, 1-mile kids fun run. Register on-line at www.racesonline.com. You can easily find the Founders Day race either by location or date.

For information about the church softball tournament being sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce contact Ron Hart at 473-7410.

The Car Show in Shuffield Park is open to all specialty cars and motorcycles.  There will be no admission fee or registration fee.  Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go to the Baptist Children’s Village of Water Valley. For additional information, contact Darrell Martin at 562-5163 or Odie Shuffield at 473-1892.

The Water Valley Junior Auxiliary will be in charge of the Pet Parade.  Information and entry forms are available from Amanda Edwards. Contact Amanda at 934-3394 after 5 pm.

Information about the Photo Contest, along with entry forms, can be picked up at the North Mississippi Herald office or the WVMSA office at 207 Main Street.  You can also contact the WVMSA office at 473-3796 or jessiemgurner@yahoo.com.

Call Pat Brooks, 473-2142, for information about the Quilt Show and quilting demonstration.
