Join Over 40 Basketball Tourney And Help ‘Shoot For A Cure’
Relay for Life’s Prayer Warriors Team is “Shooting for a Cure”.
If you are 40 years of age, or above, Prayer Warriors and the Water Valley High School basketball team are looking for you.
The Prayer Warriors (Relay For Life) and the Water Valley High School Basketball Team will host a 40 years of age, or older, basketball tournament. These games will be played in the Water Valley High School Gymnasium April 5, beginning at 2 p.m. Admission at the door will be $3.
If you can’t participate but would like to make a donation, see any of the Prayer Warrior team members. All proceeds will go to Relay For Life. Prayer Warriors Team Captain is Ora L. Phillips.
Rummage Sale Scheduled April 19 To Raise Money For Mission Trip
A rummage sale will be held April 19, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Items for sale will include: home interiors products; other home decor; clothes; toys; miscellaneous items. Proceeds from this rummage sale will help fund a mission trip to Nicaragua.
Valley Lodge Schedules Thursday Meeting
Valley City Lodge #402 F&AM will hold its next regular stated communication at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle.

Eastern Star Chapter Sets Meeting Date
Water Valley Chapter #5, Order of the Eastern Star will hold its next regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 8, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. “We encourage all members to attend,” stated Katie Partain, Worthy Matron.
Donations Solicited For Cemetery
Donations are being sought for the Camp Ground Cemetery Fund. Anyone who would like to contribute to the upkeep of this cemetery can make checks payable to the Camp Ground Cemetery Fund and mail them to Mechanics Bank, P. O. Box 707, Water Valley, MS 38965.

Get Your Purple Bow And Show Support For The Relay For Life
Purple Bows are still being sold by the Red Hat Melons. These purple bows are to show support for the upcoming Relay for Life Event, which will be held April 25, in the Crawford Sports Complex. Purple Bows can be purchased from any member of the Red Hat Melons, or by calling Jonnie Mayo at (662) 473-1897. “Get your purple bows today and display them to show your support,” urges Mrs. Mayo.
Class Of ‘68 Planning Class Reunion
There will be a Water Valley High School Class of ‘68 Reunion Planning Meeting April 4, 7 p.m., at Jan Womble’s house. “We need your input so please try to attend,” stated Womble.
VFW Will Have Bingo Action
Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100’s Post Home Friday night. The Post is located at 11535 Hwy. 315, west of Water Valley. “Come out and join VFW members for a fun-filled night of bingo,” invites Commander Joe Gross.
The building opens at 5:30 p.m., sales start at 6 p.m. and the first of 24 games begins at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
Come Shake A Leg At The VFW With Hog Wild Country Band
It’s party time at VFW Post 4100, Water Valley,” states Commander Joe Gross. A live band is featured each Saturday night and on April 5, the featured band will be the Hog Wild Country Band. Music begins at 8 p.m. and plays until midnight.
“Join us for listening or dancing to country music at the Post Home located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley,” concludes Mr. Gross.
Panola Playhouse Will Have Auditions For Broadway Musical
The Panola Play House, located in Sardis, will be holding auditions on Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m., and Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m. for the Summer Broadway Musical, “The Wizard of Oz”, which will be directed by Water Vallian Tommy Latham. Tillatoba Fire Department Plans Fish Fry Fundraiser
The Tillatoba Volunteer Fire Department will have a Fish Fry April 5, beginning at 4 p.m. Plates will be $7 each. Also raffle tickes for a $200 Wal-Mart Shopping Spree will be on sold for $1 each. All proceeds will benefit the Tillatoba VFD.
Valley Lions Will Offer Delicious Pancake Breakfast For Only Four Bucks
The Water Valley Lions Club will host another of first-of-the-month pancake breakfast Saturday, April 5, from 6:30- 9 a.m., in the Lions Depot Building on Main Street. The menu will be all-you-care-to- eat pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice and breakfast will cost $4 per person. All proceeds are used for the many charitable projects of the club.

The Sylva Rena Community Relay for Life Team is having a garage and bake sale on Saturday, April 5, in the Sylva Rena Baptist Church parking lot on Highway 32-West. There will also be a bake sale in front of Larson’s Piggly Wiggly the same day.
American Cancer Society Relay Teams Will Hold Road Block on Saturday
The American Cancer Society Relay Teams will hold a Road Block on Saturday, April 5, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Show your support by giving of you pennies, dimes, quarters, and dollars.
The ACS Relay for Life will be held Friday, April 25, in the Crawford Sports Complex, with activities starting around 5 p.m.
