Disaster Relief teams with the Yalobusha Baptist Association and the Calhoun Baptist Association spent two days working in the aftermath of April tornadoes that damaged areas of Jackson. Friday, May 2

    Oak Grove C.M.E. Church will sell fish plates on Friday, May 2, starting at 11 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. Plates cost $7 each. Plates will be delivered to plants and businesses, but there must be at least five or more orders to any destination. The plates will be sold at Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church’s Fellowship Hall. Saturday, May 3

    There will be a singing program, sponsored by Chapel Hill M.B. Church, in the city auditorium on the first Saturday night, May 3, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Admission is  a $5 donation at the door. Scheduled singers include The Love Sisters, Chosen, Truly Blessed, Anointed Ones, Wings of Harmony, The Louis Sisters, and many more. For more information call Sis. Pegues at 832-3141.

  A rummage sale will be held Saturday, May 3, from 7 a.m. until, at First United Methodist Church, 603 North Main Street, Water Valley. Proceeds from the sale will be used for members going on the Nicaragua Medical and Dental Mission Trip. There are too many items to list. Sausage biscuits will also be available for purchase. All donations are tax deductible.

Sunday, May 4

 Sanders Chapel M. B. Church will have their Pre-Mother’s Day Program May 4, beginning at 8:30 p.m. This will be their morning service, and Minister Geraldine Booker will be the messenger for the Lord.

  Union Hill Church will have a Pre-Mother’s Day Program on Sunday, May 4, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Richard Brown of New Hope M.B. Church will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by his church family.

  Sanders Chapel M.B. Church will host an ordination service for Brother Tommy Lynn Turner and Brother Jeffery Mathews on May 18, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Mitchell Steen will be the speaker.

The O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church will celebrate their 115th homecoming this Sunday, May 4. The special homecoming service begins at 10 a.m. and features music from the children’s group, “Praising Hands” and specials from guest singer, Larry Dean Hardy, as well as members, Lisa and Cheyenne Bryant, Rick Peeples, and the choir.

The guest speaker will be Rev. Daniel Hawthorn, pastor of First Baptist Bruce. The day will end with a pot luck fellowship at noon.

May 7, 8 and 9

Chapel Hill M.B. Church will have their three-night spring revival Services May 7, 8, and 9, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. The guest speaker will be Rev. Cleveland Alexander from Water Valley, pastor of Pine Grove West Church.

Sunday, May 10

 The pastor and members of Oak Grove C.M.E. Church would like to invite you to their Mother’s Day Banquet May 10, beginning at 6 p.m. This event will be held in the Miles Memorial Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $15 each.  Church members are also selling tickets for a 20-inch flat screen T.V. for $3 each, which will also be given away that night.      The following night, May 11, which is Mother’s Day, Oak Grove C.M.E. Church will have a great speaker, Rev. Michael Gougis-Flowers, Apostle/Overseer and Founder/President of Let The Healing Begin…NOW: Outreach Ministries International, Inc. There will be a gospel singing Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at New Life Fellowship in Oakland, featuring Masters Quartet from Booneville.   The Sanders Chapel M.B. Church Famiy cordially invites each and everyone to come out and worship with them during their Youth Day Program June 1, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Everdale Youth Choir and Praise Team will be the special guests.
