Diamond Club Meeting Is Monday
There will be a Diamond Club Baseball Booster Meeting on Monday, June 2, beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in Tri-Lake Eye Clinic.
Private Applicator’s Training Will Be June 2
There will be a private applicator’s training on June 2, at 6:30 pm. If you plan to buy restricted chemicals, you have to have a private applicator’s license. If you need a private application license or if yours has expired, you will need to attend this training. There is a $10 charge to attend. Football Camp Scheduled In June
The Water Valley football camp will be held June 23, 24 and 25, from 8 a.m. until noon each day.
This camp will cost $40 for each participant in fifth and sixth grades. The camp is free to seventh graders because they will be playing for the school during the upcoming season.
Dateline for registration is May 30. Turn in your registration form to: Coach Brown or Mrs. Gilley at the elementary school.
Every athlete will receive lunch each day at the elementary school. They will also receive a camp t-shirt. Drop-off will be at the high school football field all three mornings at 8 a.m. and pick-up will be at the elementary school at noon.
MSU Extension Service Will Host Quick Bites Program
On Thursday, May 29, there will be a Quick Bites program entitled “Pest Management in Vegetable Gardens.” Insect pests can take a bite out of homegrown vegetables before you get a chance to. This session focuses on some of the most damaging pests and gives recommendations on how to manage and control them. This program is free and open to the public, so please bring a sack lunch and join us for a fun and informative program.
Horse Show Planned Saturday
On Saturday, May 31, there will be a judged horse show starting at 3 p.m. A timed event horse show will follow no sooner than 7:30 p.m. As usual, the show is free and open to the public.
High School Dizzy Dean Begins Baseball Games
High School Dizzy Dean Summer League baseball games will begin this week. The team will be playing Thursday, May 29, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Water Valley. Play will continue Friday, May 30, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., also in Water Valley. The team will also be playing Tuesday, June 3, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Lafayette.
VFW Plans Inside Yard Sale
Water Valley VFW Post 4100 will have an “Inside Yard Sale” Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. until 12 Noon. The sale will be held in the Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Donations are welcome!
Come Shake A Leg At The VFW
The regular Saturday Night VFW Dance on May 31 will feature “Road House”, a hot new country band. Music will be played from 8 p.m. until 12 Midnight, at VFW Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. A Concession will be available.

Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley, on Friday, May 30. Play will begin at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years old to play.
