State Of MSU Address Set For July 7
The Mississippi State University Alumni and friends are invited to attend the “State of Mississippi State Address” from Dr. Vance Watson, Interim President of Mississippi State University, on July 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building. The address will be broadcast via distance learning at the Multipurpose Building and will provide all Bulldog supporters the opportunity to visit with Dr. Watson and other Mississippi State Representatives.
Masons Announce Thursday Meeting
St. Cyr Commandery No. 6 will hold its next stated Conclave on Thursday, June 26, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. “Please support your Commandry by making a special effort to attend. We need your help and support,” stated Jim Ward, Commander.

VFW Schedules Bingo Action Friday
Bingo will be played Friday night, June 27, beginning at 7 p.m. This will be held in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.

Chamber Seeks Class Photos For Watermelon Carnival Program
The Chamber is seeking class group or composite photographs from graduating classes who are having reunions this year. The photos are needed for the Watermelon Carnival Program.
Color Guard Announces July 3 Bake Sale
The Water Valley High School Color Guard will have a Bake Sale Thursday, July 3, beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until sold out. The bake sale will be in front of Larson’s Piggly Wiggly and the proceeds will be used to help buy new uniforms. The Color Guard invites everyone to come by and purchase goodies for 4th of July events.
Stewart Reunion Set For July 5 At The Masonic Temple
The 29th annual Stewart reunion will be held Saturday, July 5, in the Masonic Temple at 122 Champion Circle, just off Highway 7 south, Water Valley. Catch The Reading Bug At Blackmur Memorial Library
Youngsters are invited to Catch The Reading Bug at Blackmur Memorial Library. Registration has begun at the Library for the Summer Reading Program. Anissa Wilkinson (owner of Imagination Station) is the event coordinator for the program.
The Library Staff is seeking volunteers to assit in this year’s program. Ages 13 to adult can sign up to volunteer. The summer reading program will begin July 12 from 10-11 a.m. Additional days will be: July 17, 4-5 p.m.; July 24, 4-5 p.m.; and July 26, 10-11 a.m. The Awards Program will be held July 31 from 4-5 p.m.
The library staff is looking forward to all children and young adults coming out to enjoy this year’s reading program. Registration forms are available at the library. All children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult during program times. Registration deadline is July 5. For more information, please contact the library at 473-2444.
