2008 Dizzy Dean Champions

The 11 year-old all star team from Water Valley are the 5th Annual Dizzy Dean 2008 Champions. The team played in the Horn Lake All-Star Classic on June 20 – 22. The tournament ended with an exciting win over Oxford. Team members include: (from left) front row: Cody Greer, Taylor Smith, Brandon Bounds, Stanton Sparks, and Sherrod Rucker; (middle row) L. J. Hawkins, Dee McNeal, Delane Harris, Dillon Zinn, and Devin Kilpatrick. Coaches are Tim Kilpatrick, Stan Sparks, and Carlos Smith.

  The 11 year-old all star team from Water Valley also competed in the State Tournament, held in Pontotoc June 26-July 1, where they went 5-2, earning them a third place finish.  The team has qualified for play in the Dizzy Dean World Series in Cullman, Alabama July 17-23.
