Saturday, August 9

    The Women’s Missionary Society of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church will sponsor a Back to School Block Party on Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. until noon in the West Lee Street Park. Refreshments will be served. Rev. Brian Davis is pastor of the church and Rubye L. Carr is Missionary President.

Sunday, August 10

    The pastor and members of Pine Grove West M.B. Church would like to invite everyone to their Men’s Day Program on August 10, beginning at 2:30 p.m.     

    “We want you to put on the whole armor of God with us that day,” stated Bro. Kelvin Tellis, Chairperson for the program. Special guests for the program will be Rev. L. V. Anderson of the Massey Grove M.B. Church and the Massey Grove male chorus.

    Pastor Amos Sims and the Bayson Chapel Church family cordially invite everyone to come and worship with them during their mission program. The program will be held the second Sunday in August, August 10, beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Preston Gleeton, pastor of Pleasant Green M. B. Church, will deliver the message.

    Rev. Truman Scarbrough will be the guest evangelist for revival services at Clear Springs Baptist Church, beginning August 10.

    Services will be held August 10, with morning worship beginning at 11 a.m. and the evening service starting at 7 p.m. There will be a pot luck supper following the Sunday night service. Evening services will continue through Wednesday, August 13, beginning at 7 p.m. each night.

    Hopewell M.B. Church will have revival services August 10-14, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. “Come and See” is the theme for the week. Speakers for the services are: Sunday, Minister Lawrence Matthews of Coffeeville; Monday, Minister Porchia McGlown of Oxford; Tuesday, Minister Timmy Frieson of Oxford; Wednesday, Minister Willie Frost of Sardis; and Thursday, Minister Jeramanique Mitchell of Grenada.

“We welcome you to come and be a part of this ‘soul stirring revival’. We are expecting blessings to flow as our souls experience the reviving that we need. If you are saved today, find somebody and tell them what Jesus has done for you,” stated Elder Lee V. Matthews, Sr., pastor.

The Pleasant Grove Church Family invites you to Pastor’s Aid Day on Sunday, August 10, at 3 p.m. Minister Stephanie Bland and Unified Praise will be the special guests.

Friday, August 15

    An area-wide workshop/rehearsal will be held at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church on August 15th at 6:45 p.m.  All are welcome to participate in the anointed preparation and praise.

Sunday, August 17

    Sanders Chapel M. B. Church will have their Men and Women Day Program the third Sunday in August, August 17, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Minister Bobby Hall will bring the word on this day. “Come and be blessed as you come and help us lift up the name of Jesus,” reports Pastor Mitchell Steen and the Sanders Chapel Church Family.

August 20 – 24

    Annual revival services will be held at Jumpers Chapel Congregational Methodist Church Thursday through Saturday, August 21, 22, and 23. Brother Bobby Jones, Associate Pastor of Jumpers Chapel, will be bringing the message for each service. There will be a variety of special music, as well as congregational singing, each evening. On Sunday, August 24, Homecoming services will be held at 11 a.m. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall immediately following homecoming activities. In addition, the annual meeting of interested individuals of the Jumpers Chapel CMC Cemetery will be held at 1:15 p.m.

September 1 – 4

    Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual fall revival services Monday, September 1, through Thursday, September 4, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Marcus Dudley, pastor of Moorse Chapel AME Church in Coffeeville will be the guest evangelist. “Please come out and help us lift up the name of our Lord and Savior,” says Rev. Phillip Brackett, pastor. Sister Sandra Woodard is clerk of the church and Everdale is located at 410 Calhoun Street in Water Valley.
