Saturday, August 23

  Members of Chapel Hill Church will sell fish and barbecue plates Saturday, August 23 at the Miles Building Downtown. Plates will be available between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

    The Christian Gospel Group, “Cedar Creek,” will present a concert at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, August 23, beginning at 6 p.m.

    The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. A love offering will be taken. A finger food fellowship will be held immediately following the musical program. The Drummer for the group, Michael Hall, is a son of “Sissie” and Mickey Hall.

Sunday, August 24

    The youth department at Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have a youth fellowship program on Sunday, August 24, at 3 p.m.  Deacon Lenair Person and Pine Grove youth choir will be special guest.  

    Pastor Appreciation Day at New ReHoboth M.B. Church  in Coffeeville will be held Sunday, August 24, beginning at 2 p.m. Guest speaker for this service will be Rev. Cleveland Alexander. He will be accompanied by his church family.

  New Providence M.B. Church, located on the Pope/Water Valley Road, will celebrate its 43rd church anniversary Sunday, August 24, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Larry Cozart, pastor of St. Phillip M.B. Church of Sledge.

    Green Goshen C.M.E. Church will celebrate its church anniversary Sunday, August 24, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Kenny Rogers will be the speaker for this service.

    Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have its family and friends day Sunday, August 24, beginning at 11 a.m. All are invited to attend.

August 21 – 24

    Annual revival services will be held at Jumpers Chapel Congregational Methodist Church Thursday through Saturday, August 21, 22, and 23. Brother Bobby Jones, Associate Pastor of Jumpers Chapel, will bring the message for each service. There will be special music, as well as congregational singing, each evening. On Sunday, August 24, homecoming services will be held at 11 a.m. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall immediately following homecoming activities.

August 24 – 28

    Pastor Mitchell Steen and the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church family cordially invite you to attend spring revival services, which will convene August 24-28, beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. each night thereafter. Guest speaker for the week will be Pastor Sammy Townes, pastor of Travelers’ Rest M.B. Church.

August 25 – 29

    Paris Baptist Church will be holding revival services August 25-29, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. Bro. James West will be the guest speaker.

Sunday, August 31

    Singer Matt Hill will present a concert at Tillatoba Baptist Church on August 31, beginning at 5 p.m. A love offering will be taken. For more information, contact Angela R. Dukes at (662) 623-8877

    The Steadam Family of Cleveland will be in concert at Sylva Rena Baptist Church on August 31, beginning at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

September 1 – 4

    Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual fall revival services Monday, September 1, through Thursday, September 4, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Marcus Dudley, pastor of Moorse Chapel AME Church in Coffeeville will be the guest evangelist. Everdale is located at 410 Calhoun Street in Water Valley.

    Shiloh Baptist Church at Big Creek extends an invitation for all children to come and join their Children’s Choir. Whether your child is a singer or instrumentalist they are offering the opportunity for spiritual, musical growth. Sheryl Fleming, will be the Choir Director. She brings years of vocal experience and love for music to share with the children and youth. The church will begin their Christmas play/musical soon. Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have their annual Mens and Womens Day Program on Sunday, September 21, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Roland Biggs, Associate Minister at Toby Tubby Church in Oxford will be the guest speaker. Everdale is located at 410 Calhoun Street in Water Valley.

The Youth Department at Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have a Fruit of the Spirit Program Sunday, September 28, beginning at 3 p.m. Sister Terri Barnes, Sister Patricia Campbell, Sister Carol Gray, Rev. Chadrick Jeffries, Dr. Rubert Morgan, Evangelist Pamela Pomerlee, Rev. Kenneth Rogers, Rev. Mitchell Steen, and Minster Lorraine Turner will be exemplifying the various components of the Fruit of the Spirit.
