Vendors Needed For Holiday Bazaar

    The Yalobusha County Homemakers will sponsor a Holiday Bazaar on November 1 at the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building in Coffeeville.  Spaces for rent are 10×10 and cost $15 per booth space.  Electricity is available for an additional $10.  For additional information, please contact Patsy Stewart at (662) 609-9695. 

Pine Valley Reunion Set For Sept. 20

    The annual Pine Valley School reunion will be held, September 20. All former students, teachers, family and friends are invited to attend. Lunch will be served at noon, and those attending are asked to bring a dish for sharing at this meal.

Soccer Registration Is August 30

    Soccer registration is scheduled in the Crawford Sports Complex on Saturday,  August 30, from 9 a.m. until noon. Registration cost will be $45 for first child, $40 for second child, and $35 for third child. (Prices are for siblings.) Pink Ladies Fund Raiser Is Sept. 13

    Yalobusha General Hospital and Yalobusha County Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) will have a fund raiser September 13, from 2 – 4 p.m. at First Christian Church. Admission is free. Rada Products will be featured and there will be samples of the products to taste. Proceeds benefit the hospital and nursing home.

Cornerstone Holds Benefit

    A benefit for Danny Thompson will be held at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church on Saturday, August 30. A spaghetti dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal will include spaghetti, green beans, slaw, dessert, and tea for $6 a plate for adults, and $3 for children, 12-and-under. There will also be a raffle for a queen-size quilt, donated by Pansy Saxton of Quilts and Things. Tickets are a buck each and the drawing will be at Cornerstone on August 30 at 7 p.m. The quilt is on display at Turnage Drug Store. Following dinner, there will be singing from 7 to 8 p.m. Cornerstone is located at 606 Wise Street. For more information call 473-4117.

Maharreys Will Be In Concert Sept. 6

    The Maharreys will be in concert Sunday, September 6, beginning at 5 p.m., at Community Full Gospel Church on Highway 32, east of Charleston. For more information contact Pastor C. H. Newcomb at (662) 647-5971.

Bingo Action Planned Friday

    VFW bingo will be played Friday night, August 29, beginning at 7 p.m. This will be held in VFW Post 4100’s Post Home located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. You must be at least 18 years old to play.

RoadHouse Will Perform Saturday

    The regular VFW Saturday night dance features live music each week. The featured band on August 30 will be RoadHouse, a hot new country band. The dance is held in Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley.

English Class Seeks Used Clothes

    “Help us help our community by donating your gently used clothes, shoes, jackets, coats, etc.,” urge members of the Water Valley High School Accelerated English III Class. “By doing this you will be helping a special family in need.”

    Donated items can be taken to the WVHS Main Office during school hours (8 a.m.-3 p.m.) on August 29 and September 5.

Masons Announce Monthly  Meeting

    St. Cyr Commandery No. 6 will hold its next stated Conclave on Thursday, August 28, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. “Please support your Commandry by making a special effort to attend. We need your help and support,” stated Jim Ward, Commander.

Wrestling Scheduled September 6

All-Pro Productions will hold a benefit wrestling match Saturday, Sept. 6, at the National Guard Armory. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and bell time is 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The match is to help with medical expenses for Barbara and Michael Pritchard of Water Valley, according to Shelia Willard of Med-Mart Homecare. For additional information, call (662) 473-4426.
