An area-wide workshop/rehearsal will be held at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church Thursday, September 4, beginning at 6:45 p.m. “Everyone is welcome to participate in this anointed preparation and praise workshop,” stated Musical Director Lee Matthews, Jr. Coordinators for the program are DeAunte Harris and Latrice Kee.
Sunday, September 14
Pine Grove West Church will have its Usher Program on September 14, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The speaker for this event will be Pastor Cleveland Alexander. “Come share with us in this special program,” invites Pastor Alexander, Trustee, Bro. Ranzy Tenner, Chairman, Sis. Rabort Gardin, and the church family.
Bayson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have its Usher Program Sunday, September 14, beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Chadrick Jeffries, pastor of the Green Goshen Church, will deliver the message. Pastor Amos Sims and the Bayson Chapel Church family cordially invite the public to attend this special service. “Come and be blessed,” states Pastor Sims.
Sunday, September 21
Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual Mens and Womens Day Program on Sunday, September 21, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Roland Biggs, Associate Minister at Toby Tubby Church in Oxford, will be the guest speaker. Everdale is located at 410 Calhoun Street in Water Valley.
Saturday, September 20
There will be a gospel singing Saturday, September 20, beginning at 7 p.m. in New Life Fellowship in Oakland, featuring The Shadrix Trio. New Life Fellowship is located on Highway 32, one mile east of Interstate 55, near Oakland. Pastor Jerry W. The youth department at Everdale Missionary Baptist Church will have a Fruit of the Spirit Program Sunday, September 28, beginning at 3 p.m. Sister Terri Barnes, Sister Patricia Campbell, Sister Carol Gray, Rev. Chadrick Jeffries, Dr. Rubert Morgan, Evangelist Pamela Pomerlee, Rev. Kenneth Rogers, Rev. Mitchell Steen, and Minster Lorraine Turner will exemplify the various components of the Fruit of the Spirit.
Each Wednesday

Come and join us at First United Methodist Church each Wednesday night for fellowship and Christian education. Two adult classes will be offered in addition to classes for children and youth. The nursery will also be open. Dinner will be served from 5 until 6 p.m. The cost of dinner is $4 for adults, $2 for children over 12, $1 for children 6-12, with children under 6 free, up to a maximum of $12 per family. The classes will start at 6 p.m. and last for about one hour. Wonderful Wednesdays will begin on September 10 and continue through November 19.
The following classes are planned:
A class on becoming “Contagious Christians” will be led by Rev. Barry Dickerson.
The Doers, a visitation and evangelism group, visiting newcomers to Water Valley and taking meals to shut-ins and the elderly, will be led by Gil and Lee McMahen.
A women’s share and study, “No Perfect People Allowed”, will be led by Grace Dickerson and Julia Taylor.
There are fun and exciting activities planned for children of all ages!
Youth programs and activities will be directed by youth director, Rev. Brad Sartor.
Everyone is welcome, so don’t be shy.
Children Invited To Join Choir
Shiloh Baptist Church at Big Creek extends an invitation for all children to come and join their children’s choir. Whether your child is a singer or instrumentalist they are offering the opportunity for spiritual, musical growth.
Sheryl Fleming, will be the Choir Director. She brings years of vocal experience and love for music to share with the children and youth. The church will begin their Christmas play/musical soon. If you would like for your children/youth to be involved call 628-5949 for more information.
