Search Underway For Program Director
By Alexe van Beuren
It’s been another busy week on Main Street, and from where I sit, the coming weeks look even busier.
Fall has always been a time to work hard. Harvest, the approaching end of the tax year, football. It adds up.
Here at WVMSA things have been especially hectic. We’ve been looking for a new permanent Program Director, since my tenure as interim ends October 1. Hopefully we’ll have something to announce in that regard soon. Otherwise, let’s review:
Upcoming WVMSA events
• Homecoming pep rally, Thursday, September 25. See you at the Bandstand!
• Farmers Market Finale Fiesta, Saturday, September 27th. Come stock your larder for winter, bring or enjoy a potluck dish, and linger to listen to the live music– or bring an instrument and join in!
• Annual WVMSA meeting, Thursday, October 9. If you’re a member, come and vote in new Board Members and stay afterwards for a party!
• Town Hall Meeting, Monday, October 20. Bring your kids, your spouse, even your dog! We’re meeting at the courthouse at 6 p.m. to plot out a master plan for Water Valley with the aid of the Charette experts.
• Master Plan Unveiling, Wednesday, October 2. Come see the results of your input – courthouse, at 6 p.m.!
• Movie On Main Street, Saturday, October 25. We’re having our first free movie event downtown at 6pm, rain or shine. Food and drinks will be sold, so bring your family downtown!
• Every Saturday in October: Better BackStreet will be revamping the backside of our Main Street Merchants. Volunteer to help!
Throw in a membership campaign, website enhancement, and all the normal duties of running an office and the hours just melt away!
Hopefully, the above list will inspire you to pick up one of the flyers around town and join WVMSA. We can use all the help we can get in our quest to make Water Valley’s Main Street a great place to live, work, and play.
