Masonic Chapters Announce Joint Monthly Meeting
McConico Chapter No. 96 RAM & J. J. Melton Council No. 50 will hold their regular scheduled meetings at the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle on Thursday, November 13, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All members of these two Masonic Bodies are encouraged to attend. “We need your help and support during this Masonic Year,” stated Edward Huckaby, H.P., and Clyde Herron, Ill. Garden Club Offers Commemorative Brick Pavers At City Park
The Garden Club of Water Valley is selling commemorative brick pavers to be placed around the flag pole in City Park. The pavers are in memory/honor of anyone who has served their country in any branch of the military. Cost per paver is $50. Call Cheryl Pass, 473-2324 or Jane Franklin, 473-2138 to place an order.
Roadhouse Will Perform At VFW
The regular VFW Saturday Night Dance on Nov. 15 will feature the music of RoadHouse, a hot new country band. Dancing begins at 8 p.m. and continues until midnight. The Dance is held in VFW Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. A concession stand will be available.
Union Hill Church Extends Invitation To Harvest Day Program
Union Hill Church will have its Harvest Day Program Nov. 16, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Harold Johnson of St. John Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by his church family. Isom Chapel Male Chorus will be the guest choir. “Everyone is invited to attend this special service. Come out and be blessed,” stated Dr. James Johnson, pastor. Sis. Florine Holmes is the program sponsor.
First Christian Announces Yard Sale
The First Christian Church Ladies Circle will have a Christmas decoration yard sale inside the CAB on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The sale will be held rain or shine. Proceeds from this sale will help the Ladies Circle with projects they sponsor at the church. “Christmas is only six weeks after the sale, so come out and get your decorations cheap!” stated Dee Cox.
Christmas Parade Scheduled For December 6
The 2008 Water Valley Christmas Parade date has been set for Saturday, December 6, beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon. A rain date for the parade will be the following Saturday, December 13.

Pink Ladies Host Thanksgiving Bake Sale Fundraiser
The Yalobusha General Hospital and Yalobusha County Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) will hold their annual Thanksgiving Bake Sale on Saturday, No. 22, in front of Turnage Drug Store. “Come by and purchase your Thanksgiving desserts and help the hospital and nursing home,” invite the Pink Ladies.
Bailey Twins Will Speak At Historical Society Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet at 2 p. m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville. Jean Kirk and Joan Bailey, “the Bailey twins,” will speak on “Growing Up In Coffeeville in the 1930s and 1940s. The public is invited. For additional information contact Betty R. Miller at 226-6975.
VFW Schedules Friday Bingo
Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535, Highway 315, west of Water Valley, on Friday night, November 14. Games will begin at 7 p.m. and you must be at least 18 years old to play.
VFW Plans Monthly Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of VFW Post 4100 and its Auxiliary will be held the third Thursday night of November, which will be November 20. It will be held in the Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. All members are urged to be present.
