Pink Ladies Host Thanksgiving Bake Sale Fundraiser
Yalobusha General Hospital and Yalobusha County Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) annual Thanksgiving bake sale will be held Friday, November 21, in front of Turnage Drug Store instead of Saturday, the 22nd, as was originally announced.

Bailey Twins Will Speak At Historical Society Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville. Farm Bureau Delegates Will Discuss Policy At Convention
Mississippi Farm Bureau delegates will gather in Jackson for their 87th annual convention, on December 6-8, with an agenda to set policy for the state’s largest farm organization. Ole Miss Student Jazz Ensemble Will Present Annual Fall Concert
The Mississippians, the University of Mississippi’s principal student jazz ensemble, is slated to present its annual fall concert Thursday (Nov. 20) at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. performance at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts are $5 each. Masonic Meeting Will Be Third Thursday Due To Holiday
St. Cyr Commandery No. 6 will hold its next stated Conclave on Thursday, November 20, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. Members should note that this meeting has been changed to the Third Thursday due to the Thanksgiving holiday and will begin with a pot luck supper at 6:30. “Relatives and friends are invited to fellowship with us. Saxton Will Entertain At VFW
The regular VFW Saturday Night Dance on November 22 will feature the music of the Danny Saxton Band. Dancing begins at 8 p.m. and continues until Midnight. The Dance is held in VFW Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. A concession stand will be available.

Garden Club Offers Commemorative Pavers At City Park
The Garden Club of Water Valley is selling commemorative brick pavers to be placed around the flag pole in City Park. MSU – Extension Service Will Host Quick Bites Program
On Thursday, November 20, there will be a Quick Bites program entitled “Mechanics for Silk and Dried Floral Designs” during the noon hour at the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building. This program will be presented by Dr. Jim DelPrince, Associate Professor of Plants and Soil Sciences at MSU, and will add information to the previous sessions on mechanics in floral design.

Roberson’s Abstract Art Offered For Public’s Enjoyment
The Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort (CARE) is proud to announce an “Extraordinary Exhibit of Andy Roberson’s Abstract Art” for the public’s enjoyment. The exhibit will open the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, in the Charleston Art Center on the Courthouse Square in Charleston.
The exhibit also will be open Dec. 2, 4, 7, 9, 11 and 14 from 2-5 p.m. daily. The late Mr. Roberson, a native of Charleston, was an internationally acclaimed abstract artist who, in true artist tradition, is being recognized for his work posthumously. His oriental teaching is accented by his vivid use of color, creating unique, aesthetically pleasing art. Mr. Roberson’s work has been globally recognized by awards such as the “Day Without Art” grant, and publication in The National Library of Poetry.
The one-of-a-kind talent will be on exhibit and for purchase at the Charleston Arts Center.
Jeff Davis School Plans Reunion
The Jeff Davis School Christmas Reunion will be held December 6, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Masonic Lodge on Champion Circle. All students, family, and friends are invited. Everyone attending should bring a covered dish.
Lions Club Takes Orders For Cheese
The Water Valley Lions Club is now taking orders for its Christmas Cheese. There are a variety of gift boxes available, as well as the blocks that the club sell year around.
Order forms may be picked up at the Herald, Turnage’s, and the Chamber of Commerce Office, as well as from any Lions Club member. The Lions should be able to deliver the cheese orders sometime during the following week. Proceeds from this cheese sale will be used for the many projects Lions do, including glasses, eye surgery, screenings, hearing, diabetes awareness, as well as the many community projects in which they participate. VFW Announces Friday Bingo
Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100’s Post Home, located at 11535, Highway 315, west of Water Valley, on Friday night, November 21. Games will begin at 7 p.m. and you must be at least 18 years old to play.
Christmas Parade Set For Dec. 6
The 2008 Water Valley Christmas Parade date has been set for Saturday, December 6, beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon. A rain date for the parade will be the following Saturday, December 13.
