VFW Hosts New Year’s Eve Dance
A New Year’s Eve dance will be held at VFW Post 4100’s Home. Featured will be the Danny Saxton Band and dancing will be from 8 to 12 p.m. The Post Home is located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Friday night bingo has been cancelled.
Road House Band Performs At VFW On Saturday Night
The regular VFW Saturday Night Dance will feature the RoadHouse Band on January 3. Dancing will be from 8 to 12 p.m. in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. A concession stand will be available.
Masonic Lodge Installs New Officers
Valley City Lodge No. 402 F&AM will install new officers for the coming year at 7:30 on Thursday, January 1, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. This will be an open installation, beginning with a pot luck supper at 6:30. “Friends and family are invited to join us. We urge you to support your local lodge,” says J. W. Tuggle, WM.
Lions’ Breakfast Is Rescheduled
The Water Valley Lions Club will not have their regular first-of-the-month pancake breakfast Saturday, January 3, due to the holidays.
They will however serve a pancake breakfast Saturday, January 10, between the hours of 6:30 and 9 a.m. at the depot. The menu will be all you care to eat of pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee for only $5 per plate. “Come out and enjoy a delicious breakfast and some great fellowship, while helping support the many charitable projects of WV Lions,” says Lion Ernie Aune.
Baseball Boosters Announce Big Doe Contest
The Water Valley Baseball Boosters are having a biggest doe contest on January 10. First Prize will be $250. Each field dressed deer will be weighed at the High School Baseball Field. Entry fee is $25 per person. You can sign up at these locations: Valley Lumber, O’Tuck Supply, Piggly Wiggly, Sylva Rena Grocery,Tri-Lake Eye Clinic, and Burns Law Office. Deadline to sign up is Friday, January 9.
