Planning Underway For Next PopWarner Football Season

 Planning is already underway for the upcoming PopWarner Football League season in Water Valley, according to organizer Ralph Horton.

    Last year two local teams were fielded, and players competed with teams from area towns. This season Horton hopes to outfit three teams, a 7-8 year-old team, a 9-10 year-old team and an 11-12 year-old team.

    “We are planning a parents’ meeting in mid-February,” Horton explained. Practices could begin in March. Parents who are interested in enrolling their child in one of the three teams can contact Horton at 832-1830, Bobby Phillips at 473-6363 or Terry Hollinger at 473-7013.

    Fundraising efforts to offset the expenses associated with the three teams will begin soon, according to Horton. “Check the Herald for future announcements if you would like to contribute,” Horton advised.
