The First United Methodist Church of Water Valley invites each of you to this week’s Lenten Luncheon. This will be the last Lenten Luncheon for this season, so you won’t want to miss this one. Rev. Barry Dickerson, pastor of the church will be bringing the message.
Friday, April 3
Pine Grove East M.B. Church invites the public to an Appreciation Banquet honoring Pastor Johnnie Roland and Sis. Bernice Roland. The banquet will be hosted at Everdale Fellowship Building Friday, April 3, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and they can be purchased before, or at, the banquet. Please come and make this evening a special event.
Saturday, April 4
There will be a gospel singing at New Life Fellowship, Oakland, beginning at 7 p.m. Featured will be The Hendersons from Florida. New Life Fellowship is located on Highway 32, 1-1/2 miles East of Interstate 55 near Oakland. For more information contact the church office at 623-0009. Pastor Jerry W. Smith and the congregation extend a cordial invitation to everyone to attend this special program.

Joyful Generation of Anchor Baptist Church will have a fish fry from 4-6 p.m. The cost will be $7 per plate and you may eat-in or carry-out. Homemade cakes and pies will be for sale, there will be a silent auction on hand-pieced quilts, and there will be door prizes. The church is located on Highway 7 between Oxford and Water Valley.

Pine Grove East M.B. Church cordially invites groups, choirs, and soloists to participate in a Gospel Extravaganza beginning at 6 p.m. Special guest will be the “Bonner Brothers.” This musical foursome grew up on the traditional sounds of gospel music.
Sunday, April 5
Pine Grove East M.B. Church invites the public to attend the 43rd anniversary celebration of their pastor and wife beginning at 11 a.m. with Minister Garrison of Byhalia delivering the morning message. Pastor Tommie Goodwin of Bridges Chapel will bring the afternoon message at 2:30. Lunch will be served.
April 4 – 5
Water Valley Church of God will have a special speaker, Billy Barmer from Southaven, April 4 and 5. On the 4th, services start at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the 5th, services will be at the regular times of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The public is invited.
Monday, April 6
Sanders Chapel Women’s Ministry will meet April 6, beginning at 6 p.m. “We welcome all women to come and be a part of this soul searching experience,” stated Minister Geraldine Booker and Sis. Lanell Steen.
Saturday, April 11
The Parrish Grove M.B. Church at Oakland will have a Good Friday Service on April 11, beginning at noon. Seven ministers will speak on the seven cries from calvary. Lunch will be served.
Sunday, April 12
Goshen Memorial Chapel will host a sunrise service Easter Sunday, April 12, beginning at 7 a.m., with Rev. Michael Haas and Rev. Keith Burney officiating. The service will be followed by a fellowship brunch, hosted by Goshen members.

April 12 – 14
Sanders Chapel M.B. Church will have spring revival services on April 12-14. Service will beginning at 5 p.m. on April 12 and at 7 p.m. on April 13 and 14. The speaker for these services will be Minister T.K. Townsend of Bayson Chapel, Water Valley.
Saturday, April 18
Shiloh Baptist Church at Big Creek will celebrate music from the past and present. Rock of Ages 2009 will be a Tribute Weekend and Community Hoedown, taking place on Saturday, April 18, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Country legends, Bluegrass, and Southern Gospel will be the highlight of entertainment. This will be an outdoor event, food will be available and admission is free. For directions call (662) 628-5949.
