After sweeping division foe Hamilton out of the playoffs, the Water Valley Blue Devils faced another familiar foe, Ackerman, in North Half. The two teams split the season series 1-1, with both teams winning at home. Like in the regular season, Ackerman defended their home field with a 3-0 victory at home.
A pitchers duel throughout, the Water Valley bats really struggled to trouble the Ackerman pitching on the night. Senior Tank Hervey took the loss on the mound for the Blue Devils. In game two, it was again Ackerman who took an early advantage, leading the Blue Devils 5-1 until inclement weather postponed the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Water Valley will need five unanswered runs in their final three innings to keep their playoff surge alive.
