Friday, June 5
Mt. Moriah District Association will have a dedication ceremony for the district’s new building. The old building was destroyed by fire almost a year ago and Friday’s services mark the beginning of a new chapter in the association’s future. The dedication will occur on Friday, June 5, at 7 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this special dedication.
Saturday, June 6
Massey Grove M.B. Church will hold its Summer Festival on Saturday, June 6, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., in the old school at Oakland. This event is for the entire family. “Everyone is invited to join us for plenty of food, games, and fun, so make plans to come out and have some fun,” invites Sharonda Jones. If you are interested in setting up a booth, please contact Sharonda Jones at (662) 589-0040 or (662) 623-7062. Transportation will be provided if you do not have a ride. Door prizes will be given.

The Youth Department of Oak Grove C.M.E. Church will have a fish fry Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. until. The fish fry will be held at 411 Martin Street, Water Valley.
Sunday, June 7
Homecoming 2009 is scheduled Sunday, June 7, at Shiloh Baptist Church, located at Big Creek, beginning at 10:30 a.m. An invitation is extended to everyone to come and share in worship, prayer, thanksgiving and special singing during this service.
“Those attending will enjoy bits of history, looking back during a time of remembrance and honor of those around us. As we listen to stories that are gladly shared we always enjoy the home-cooked food everyone brings and we have lots of it,” says Barbara Hearn. Lunch will be served at noon.
Sunday, June 7
Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church will have its Fellowship Program at regular service time, 8:45 a.m., on Sunday, June 7. Pastor Lawrence Matthews and the Hopewell Church family invite everyone to attend this service. They say, “Come and be blessed.” There will be a word from God and a treat from the Hopewell Church family. Lunch will be served.

Sanders Chapel M.B. Church will have its Youth Day Program on June 7, beginning at 8:35 a.m. The speaker for this day will be Minister Stephanie Bland. “We are looking forward to everyone joining the Sanders Chapel Family for this special service,” stated Pastor Mitchell Steen. Sis. Lanell Steen is sponsor of the program and Sis. Ann Matthews is chairperson.

Vacation Bible school is scheduled at Hopewell Baptist Church for June 8-11 from 4:45 to 7 p.m. each day. “Come, ride the Boomerang Express with us,” stated Rev. Rick Glidewell, pastor. For more information, call 473-4916. The church is located at 804, CR 8004.
Sunday, June 21
The Sanders Chapel M.B. Church family invites everyone to attend their Father’s Day Program on June 21, beginning at 3 p.m. Associate Pastor Ed Garrison of Pine Grove East will be the guest speaker. The Pine Grove East Church Family will also be special guests.
“We are looking forward to seeing you for this wonderful day of praise and worship of our Heavenly Father, and to give recognition to all fathers present,” stated Pastor Mitchell Steen. The program committee is Bro. Curtis Matthews and Sis. Ann Matthews.
