The Rotary Club of Water Valley Bass Tournament will be held Saturday, July 18, at the Water Valley Boat Landing.
Blast off is scheduled for 5:30 a.m. and weigh-in will be held at 3 p.m. Entry fee is $100 per boat for one or two people.
First prize is $1,000, second is $500, and third is $250 based on 30 boats entered. Attendance prizes will be given at weigh in. Participants can also contribute $20 to the pot for the biggest bass, according to Sasha Hyde, tournament chairman for the Rotary Club.
1. Entry form must be filled out completely by each contestant. No more than 2 persons per boat.
2. All boats must meet Coast Guard specifications. Must have an aerated live well. Life jackets must be worn according to Coast Guard and Corp of Engineers specifications.
3. By signing entry form, participants release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless, Rotary Club of Water Valley and its members of any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or rights of action, which are related to or in any way connected to my participation in this event.
4. Five fish limit. Bass only.
The Rotary Club is a non-profit organization and all proceeds will go to the local community and schools, said Hyde.
Among the activites sponsored by the group are Magnolia Youth League, Davidson Elementary School Playground, Relay for Life, Boy Scouts, Water Valley Football Booster Club, and Enid Lake Volunteers.
Rotary also purchases a dictionary for each 3rd grade student at Davidson Elementary.
