Enid Lake News

Enid Lake Field Office would like to inform visitors to Enid Lake that renovation projects are taking place throughout several of our recreation areas.  We would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience the construction may cause. These projects will not only enhance Enid Lake facilities, but will provide visitors with updated facilities, and a quality recreational experience.

Projects that are currently underway are: repaving of Wallace Creek Campground, renovation of two restrooms in the Persimmon Hill Day Use Area, and campsite   renovations in the lower loop at Chickasaw Hill Campground.  As a result of the construction some of our facilities and campsites in Wallace Creek and Chickasaw Hill Campground may be closed temporarily.

Visitors are reminded to be extra cautious when visiting these recreation areas.  It is important to observe all speed limit signs; however, due to congestion caused by the construction slower speeds may be necessary.  Also, be sure to watch for equipment and trucks.

Visitors, especially pedestrians, need to be mindful that it is often difficult for equipment and truck operators to see what is going on around them. We encourage all parents to remind their children of the dangers of playing around equipment and within construction sites.  Visitors need to keep a safe distance between themselves and the construction areas.
