Thursday, February 25

  Lenten lunches begin at noon, Thursday, February 25, in First United Methodist Church. Rev. Harold Spraberry, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will the the guest speaker. FUM cordially invites the community to come and join with them for a time of food, fellowship, and preaching—Your presence will bless the church.

  Scheduled speakers for the remainder of Lent are as follows:

  March 2, Rev. Raymond Aven, pastor of New Hope Church of God in Batesville; March 11, Rev. Rodger Howell, pastor of Adonai Church; March 18, Rev. David Freeman, pastor of First Christian Church; March 25, Rev. Jerry Beam, Superintendent of the New Albany District.

  Everyone is invited to attend any, or all of these, services.

Saturday, February 27

    The Pleasant Grove Church family invites the public to a celebration of the history of blacks in America, as well as in Bryant community.

    “Celebrate an evening of heritage, history and hope for the brightest of futures,” said Dorothy Kee, Chairperson.

    Everyone is invited to attend this special program on Saturday, February 27, beginning at 6 p.m.

Sunday, February 28

    Union Hill Church will have its annual Black History Program February 28, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Garrison of Byhalia will be the guest speaker. The Gospel Harmoneers of Oxford will be the guest choir. Rev. James Johnson is pastor of the church and Dorris Holmes is sponsor of the program.

    The youth of Sylva Rena Baptist Church will have a lunch Sunday, February 28, in the Activity Building at the church. Serving will begin at noon. The menu includes chicken and dressing, ranch potatoes, green beans, roll, dessert and a drink for $6 per person. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to help fund the youth trip to M-Fuge scheduled later this year.

Tuesday, March 2

  Everyone is invited to attend the Yalobusha Baptist Associational Y-Fest 2010 Prayer Meeting, which will be held in the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building at Coffeeville on March 2, beginning at 7 p.m.

  Y-Fest 2010 will be held Friday, March 5, beginning at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 6, beginning at 6 p.m. On Saturday night free hamburgers will be served. Sammy Nuckolls will be the speaker for Y-Fest this year and The Tom Edwards Band will provide the music.

  Y-Fest is free and is non-denominational. Everyone is invited to attend.

Saturday March 6

 Another soldier has been called onto the battlefield. The pastor and members of Sanders Chapel M. B. Church invite everyone to come and worship as Deacon Curtis Matthews delivers his first sermon on Saturday, March 6, at 6 p.m. “Come out and be blessed as we show our love and support for Deacon Matthews and his family,” invites Rev. Mitchell Steen, pastor.

Sunday, March 7

  Pastor Jerome Battle and members of Chapel Hill Church invite everyone to come and worship with them during their Family and Friends Day Program Sunday, March 7, begining at 3 p.m. Pastor Amos Sims of Bayson Chapel M.B. Church will be the speaker for the service. He will be accompanied by members of his church. The Bayson Chapel Church Choir will render the music to help lift up and magnify the name of Jesus. “We look forward to fellowshipping with you,” concluded Pastor Battle.

Saturday, March 13

 Smith Chapel M.B. Church, Coffeeville, is having a benefit program for Sis. Bertha Brock.

  The Church would like to have each and everyone’s support and presence on March 13, beginning at 6 p.m. for Sis. Brock, who has been battling cancer for a few years. She has to make constant trips back and forth to Jackson for treatments.

  “It would be our deepest delight to have each of you share with us in giving Sis. Brock a great love offering from this benefit,” stated Elder Richard Smith, pastor.

  All choirs and soloists are welcomed and asked to attend to make this program a greater success. “We look forward to each of you being there,” concluded Elder Smith.

Sunday, March 14

  Bayson Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate their pastor’s and wife’s 21st Anniversary March 14, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Amos Sims is pastor of the Bayson Chapel. The church is located at CR 431, off Highway 32 West, Water Valley.

  The morning speaker will be Minister Hankins, Mt. Moriah’s Missionary. Pastor Sammy Townes will be the evening speaker and this program begins at 2:30 p.m.

  Lunch will be served. “Everyone is invited to attend these special services,” stated the Program Committee.

Sunday, March 21

  The pastor and members of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church cordially invite you and your church family to come and worship in their Pastor’s Aid Program on Sunday, March 21, at 3 p.m. The speaker for the program will be Rev. Columbus Bell, pastor of Philadelphia M.B. Church in Oakland. He will be accompanied by his church family.
