Water Valley Track Team Wins Third In Pontotoc Meet

The Water Valley Track Team finished third in the Pontotoc Track and Field Meet on Saturday, March 27. The scores were as follows: Kossuth, 132 points; Calhoun City, 118 points; Water Valley, 114 points; Houlka, 49 points; New Site, 47 points; Alcorn Central, 40 points; and Vardaman, 38 points.

  The Blue Devils did well in most of their events. Montez Clark was the only first place winner, winning in shot put.

  Other Water Valley participants and their placings were: 110-meter hurdle, second, Drew McGee; 300-meter hurdle, third, Drew McGee; 100-meter dash, fourth, Eric Buckley; 4×2 Relay, 3rd, E. J. Bound, Eric Buckley, Greg Hervey, and Keon Kirkwood; 1600-meter run, third, Tevon Coleman; 4×1 Relay, third, Catavus Hawkins, D. D. Gillard, Greg Hervey, and Eric Buckley; 400-meter dash, fourth, C. J. Jackson; 200-meter dash, fifth Greg Hervey; 800-meter run, third, Tevon Coleman; 4×4 Relay, third, E. J. Bound, Catavus Hawkins, Desmal Hervey and Keon Kirkwood; long jump, fourth, E. J. Bound; triple jump, fourth, Desmal Hervey; high jump, fifth, Tavis Toles; shot put, fifth, Justin McManon; discus, third, Daimion Pollard, and fourth, Devin Fleming.

  The next meet will be held at Coldwater Thursday, April 1.
