Track Team Has 17 Qualify For Region Competition

The Water Valley Blue Devil Boy’s Track Team finished second in the division track meet Thursday, April 22, at Winona.
Winona finished first in the meet. The standings were: Winona, 150 points; Water Valley, 127 points; Aberdeen, 102 points, Nettleton, 87 points; Mooreville, 65 points; and MSMS, 38 points.
The Blue Devils were division champs in these events: shot put, Justin McCammon; triple jump, Desimal Hervey; 300 meter hurdle, Tavis Toles; and 800 meter Run, Tevon Coleman.
Others placing were: 110 meter hurdle, second, Drew McGee, and fourth, Johnny Kirkwood; 4×2 relay, fourth, D. C. Logan, C. J. Jackson, Catavus Hawkins, and Greg Hervey; 1600 meter run, third, Tevon Coleman; 4×1 relay, fourth, D. C. Logan, Terry Fleming, Desimal Hervey, and Greg Hervey; 400 meter dash, second, C. J. Jackson, and fifth, E. J. Bound; 300 meter hurdle, fifth, Drew McGee; 800 meter run, second, Bobby Hervey; 200 meter dash, 4th, Greg Hervey, and sixth, Keon Kirkwood; 4×4 Relay, third, E. J. Bound, C. J. Jackson, Tavis Toles, and Tevon Coleman; long jump, second, Desimal Hervey, and fifth, E. J. Bound; high jump, fifth, Tavis Toles; shot put, second, Montez Clark; discus, second, Devil Fleming, and third, Damino Polland; triple jump, third, E. J. Bound.
Girls
In girls’ track competition Erica Rice placed third in 100 meter hurdle, and second in 300 meter hurdle.
Water Valley had 16 boys and one girl who qualified for the Region Competition, which will be held May 1 at Winona.
