Friday, May 7

    Harris Chapel will have a fellowship program Friday, May 7, beginning at 7 p.m. Guest speakers will be Minister Michael Thompson and Minister Felicia Thompson from Atlanta, Georgia. All choirs and soloists are welcome to participate in the program.

    ”Everyone is invited to attend. Come and be blessed that you may be a blessing to God,” invites Rev. Judy Horton, pastor, and the Harris Chapel Church family.

Saturday, May 8

    Spring Hill North M.B. Church’s Mass Choir and Youth Department are sponsoring a car wash and yard sale Saturday morning, May 8, from 7-11 a.m. Cars will be washed for $5, and trucks and SUVs will be $10 each.

May 9 – 16

    Pleasant Grove Church will host Dedication Week Services. There will be eight days of celebrating God’s goodness, May 9-16. A synopsis of the week’s events and guests include:

    Ministers Night, Sunday, Pastor J. C. Hentz and Mt. Grove; Deacon’s Night, Monday, Pastor Amos Sims and Bayson Chapel; Mother’s Night, Tuesday, Pastor William Jones and Spring Hill and Oak Grove; Youth Night, Wednesday, Pastor Larry W. Ware and Bethlehem; Usher’s Night, Thursday, Pastor E. Garrison and Pine Grove;  Sunday School Night, Friday, Pastor Timothy Daniel and Little Rock;  Choir Night, Pastor Clarence Buchannon and area music ministers; and the culminating service on Sunday, with Dr. Marvin K. Miles.

    Services begin at 6 p.m on Sunday, May 9, and Saturday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Monday, May 10, through Friday, May 14, and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 16.

Sunday, May 9

  Sanders Chapel will have its Women’s Day Program during the month of May. May 9 will be their Mother’s Day Program. Minister Geraldine Booker will be the speaker. These programs will be held during the morning service, which begins at 8:35 a.m.

 The pastor and members of Hopewell M.B. Church are celebrating Mother’s Day May 9, beginning at 8:45 a.m.

    “Come and feel His presence as you are being filled with the Bread of Life. Come help us lift Him up as we celebrate all mothers. If your mother is with you, call her up, or send a gift and tell her you love her!,” says Minister Lawrence M. Matthews, pastor.

Saturday, May 15

    Mt. Liberty Church, 603 CR 284, Water Valley, will have a cemetery decorating day (Homecoming) Saturday, May 15, at 10 a.m.  Please bring your flowers, favorite dish and fellowship with us.  

Sunday, May 16

    A Family and Friends Day Program will be held Sunday, May 16, beginning at 3 p.m., in Harris Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church of Water Valley. The guest speaker will be Rev. Mitchell Steen. Special guests will be Sanders Chapel M.B. Church of Water Valley.         “Everyone is invited to come and share with us on this blessed occasion and bring a friend,” says Rev. Judy Horton, pastor, and the Harris Chapel Church family.

    Spring Hill North M.B. Church will be celebrating its Pastor’s and Wife’s first year anniversary on May 16. The special program will begin at 3 p.m. Rev. Bruce Paige is pastor of the Church. The guest speaker will be Rev. Sammy Townes of Travel Rest M.B. Church in Greenwood.

    A family and friends’ day program will be held Sunday, May 16, beginning at 3 p.m., in Harris Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church of Water Valley. The guest speaker will be Rev. Mitchell Steen. Special guests will be Sanders Chapel M.B. Church of Water Valley.

Saturday, May 22

 Pleasant Grove will have its annual cemetery clean-up, in conjunction with the Memorial and Homecoming weekend, on Saturday, May 22. As always, the assistance of all members, former members, relatives, and friends is needed and encouraged.

    If you are unable to attend and volunteer your services, you may give or send your donations, checks made payable to Pleasant Grove, to Lillie Roberts, Dorothy Page, or Otto Covington.

May 23 – 25

    Pine Grove East M. B. Church will have spring revival services Sunday, May 23-25. Services will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. thereafter. Rev. Eddie Golliday, pastor of Clear Creek M.B. Church of Oxford, will be the guest evangelist. An invitation is extended to everyone to attend.

Sunday, May 30

 Mt. Olivet Methodist Church is hosting homecoming Sunday, May 30, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to come out and share in worship, fellowship, good food and entertainment.
