Track Team Earns Fourth Place Finish In District

The Region 2-3A Track Meet was held at Winona Tuesday, May 4. Water Valley finished in fourth place in the Region, with 11 boys and one girl qualifying for the North State Meet, which was held Saturday, May 8, at Charleston High School.

Shot Put, Justin McCammon, first, and Montez Clark, second; Long Jump, Desmond Hervey, fifth; Triple Jump, Desmond Hervey, fifth and E. J. Bound, fourth; Discus, Devin Fleming, third, and Daimion Pollard, fifth; 4×2 Relay, sixth; 110 Hurdle, Drew McGee, third; 4×1 Relay, D. C. Logan, Terry Flemon, E. J. Bound, Greg Hervey, fourth; 400 Meter Dash, seventh; 1600 Meter Run, fifth; 300 Meter Hurdle, Tavis Toles, fourth; and 800 Meter Run, Tevon Coleman, fourth; 200 Meter Dash, seventh; 4×4 Relay, fifth.
Girls
Erica Rice,100 Meter Hurdle, fifth, and 300 Meter Hurdle, third.
The Water Valley blue Devils finished sixth in the North Half meet on Saturday, May 8.
North Half
The Devils have three track team members who qualified for the State Meet, which will be held in Jackson, Friday, May 14.
They are Montez Clark, who won Shot Put in the North Half; Justin McCammon, who finished second in Shot Put; and Devin Fleming, who finished third in the Discus Throw.
