Saturday, May 22

 Pleasant Grove will have its annual cemetery clean-up, in conjunction with the Memorial and homecoming weekend, on Saturday, May 22. As always, the assistance of all members, former members, relatives, and friends is needed and encouraged.

    If you are unable to attend and volunteer your services, you may submit a donation. Send your check, made payable to Pleasant Grove, to Lillie Roberts, Dorothy Page, or Otto Covington.

 O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church will host a community wide fish fry this Saturday evening, May 22, from 5 until 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Brotherhood, who will use the proceeds to help fund the youth mission trip to Mobile, Ala. Plates will be $6 each and take out plates will be available. Pastor Daniel Dicker-son invites  everyone to come out for a great evening of food and fellowship.

Sunday, May 23

    The annual Lovejoy Church homecoming will be held  Sunday, May 23, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church in Panola County. Everyone is invited for a time of fellowship and worship. There will be a potluck picnic on the grounds after the service.         Lovejoy is a Methodist Church, founded in 1884 by early settlers in this area.

 New Providence Missionary Baptist Church will have its 75th homecoming and Memorial Day services Sunday, May 23, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Terry Worsham of Coldwater will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by the South Hopewell M.B. Church family of Taylor as special guests.

May 23 – 25

    Pine Grove East M. B. Church will have spring revival services Sunday, May 23-25. Services will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. thereafter. Rev. Eddie Golliday, pastor of Clear Creek M.B. Church of Oxford, will be the guest evangelist. An invitation is extended to everyone to attend.

Wednesday, May 26

    Sanders Chapel, located in Water Valley, will host its Mid-Week Service on May 26, beginning at 6 p.m. “Our very own Minister Tommy Turner will be the speaker for that night,” states Pastor Mitchell Steen. “Everyone is invited to come out and share this program with the Sanders Chapel Church family,” concluded Pastor Steen.

Sunday, May 30

 Mt. Olivet Methodist Church is hosting homecoming Sunday, May 30, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to come out and share in worship, fellowship, good food and entertainment.

    The House of Prayer Church of God in Christ will have its homecoming service Sunday, May 30, beginning at noon. The church is located at 811 Mill Street, Water Valley. The pastor, Elder Moses Wright, Sr., is asking all former members, current members, friends and family to come and be blessed in this service.

    Homecoming at Sylva Rena Baptist Church will be held Sunday, May 30. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this celebration. Morning worship begins at 10 a.m. and ends at noon. The speaker will be be Rev. Rusty Robertson. After worship service, everyone is invited to join the members in the family activity center for food, fun, and fellowship. At 1 p.m those attending will again assemble in the sanctuary, where Pastor Jimmy Hood of Oakland Baptist Church will sing and bless everyone’s heart with his program of gospel music. Make plans to join the Sylva Rena Church Family on May 30.

June 7 -11

    The first Community Vacation Bible School will convene June 7-11, beginning a 6:30 p.m. nightly at Bethlehem M.B. Church. “We have invited the pastors and members of Hopewell, Mt. Grove, Pleasant Grove and Spring Hill South Missionary Baptist Churches to join with us in hosting a community vacation Bible school,” said Pastor Larry W. Ware.

    “In an effort to have a successful event, we are inviting you to come and join with us as we learn more about Jesus as the “Solid Rock,” invites Mamie H. Shields, Director of Christian Education.

Shiloh Baptist Church, Big Creek, will host a JAM 2010 Tour “Jesus and Me” Youth Rally, featuring the Blake Walker Band. The guest speaker will be Dale Brechin. This will be on Saturday, June 19, beginning at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served. There is no admssion but a love offering will be received. All parents and adults are welcome to attend. This will be an outside event so bring your lawn chairs. All churches nd youth leaders are encouraged to participate. For more information call (662) 628-5949.
