Class Of 1990 Seeks Information From Classmates
The Water Valley High School Class of 1990 is planning a reunion on August 28. Organizers are working to collect addresses and information from all class mates. Yalobusha 4-H Chapter Hosts Father-Son Event Day
A Father–Son event day will be held June 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Multi-purpose Building in Coffeeville. This will be a 4-H Fund Raiser and all boys are welcome to attend. There will be lots of snacks and door prizes.
The entry fee will be $5. Please RSVP by June 14 to Mary Mason Furr, Yalobusha 4-H Agent, at (662) 675-2730.
Lions Will Raffle Television
The Water Valley Lions Club will again be raffling a 37 inch Vizio HD LCD television. Tickets cost $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be held on Saturday of the Watermelon Carnival during the noon hour. You do not have to be present to win. Tickets are available from any Lions Club member.
Chamber Seeks Old Pictures Of Businesses For Carnival Program
The Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce would like to have as many previous and past Water Valley building pictures on file as possible. If you will share a picture bring it by the Chamber Office, it will be scanned, and immediately returned to you. Office hours are 10 a.m.-noon, and 1-3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday.
Extension Service Schedules Lunch And Learn Program
There will be a lunch and learn program at the Yalobusha County Multipurpose Building from noon to 1 p.m. Lynette McDougald will conduct the program, “Something old, something new. Something borrowed, something blue,”since June is wedding month and rose month. As usual the program is free and open to the public.
Jig Tying Seminar Set At North Mississippi Fish Hatchery
Designing and creating hand-tied jigs is an art that can be habit forming.
It is not necessary to be a skilled craftsman to make your own fishing lures. Making lures is an enjoyable hobby, especially during the long winter months.
On Saturday, June 12, Gwin Jackson will present a program at the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery demonstrating the different stages of tying hand-made jigs from hook to final product. The program begins at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Jackson is the owner of Jiggy With It, located in Pope.
The NMFH is located off I-55 at Enid Exit 233 east and the program is free with the price of admission.

Arts Council Sports Camp For Students Grades First Through Sixth
On July 12-16, the Water Valley Arts Council will hold an art camp for children in grades 1st to 6th. A $50 tuition fee includes materials and snacks. Scholarships are available. Certified Genealogist Provides Tips On Quality Research
The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet at 2 p. m. on Thursday, June 17, at their headquarters, the old Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville. The speaker will be Faye Miller Mitchell of Charleston. Faye, a certified genealogist, writes a weekly column, “Faye’s Family Ties” for The Sun Sentinel in Charleston. Her topic will be “Tips on Quality Research.” The public is invited to all YHS meetings.
VFW Schedules Friday Bingo
VFW bingo will be played Friday night, June 11, in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Hwy. 315, west of Water Valley. The building opens at 5 p.m., sales begin at 6, and the first of 24 games starts at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
Sexton Band Performs At VFW
The Sexton Band will entertain at the regular Saturday Night Dance on June 12. The building opens at 4 p.m. and the music begins at 8 and continues until midnight. “Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy dancing, or listening, to country music at the Post Home, located at 11535 Hwy. 315, west of Water Valley,” says Commander Sam Phillips. Final Horse Show Set For June 12
The final horse show prior to the District 4-H Show is Saturday, June 12. The show will start at 2 p.m. and the running events will begin at 8 p.m. Come out and support our 4-H’ers as they prepare for the district 4-H horse show.
As always admission is free.
Annual Mayberry, Easley Reunion Scheduled In Pittsboro
The annual John Mayberry Easley family reunion will be held Saturday, June 12, in the Multi-Purpose Building (Ag. Center) at Pittsboro. All descendants of this family are invited to bring a light lunch and enjoy seeing cousins and sharing families.
A new family book is being prepared, with family news occurring after the last book was published in 1978. Please have your news prepared and hand it to Lee Ann Ashley at the reunion.
“Thanks a lot for doing this as it will take care of our visiting families and we can all have fun,” reports 94-year-old great-granddaughter of John Mayberry, Ruby Taylor.
North Mississippi Hospice Sponsors Grief Support Group
North Mississippi Hospice sponsors a grief support group that meets every month. The group meeting is open to anyone who has experienced a loss. The upcoming date for the meeting is Thursday, June 10, from noon to 1 p.m. in Azalea Gardens at Oxford. A light lunch will be provided at the meeting. Masonic Chapters Announce Meeting Date
McConico Chapter No. 96 RAM and J. J. Melton Council No. 50 will hold their regular scheduled meetings in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle on Thursday, June 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All members of these two Masonic bodies are encouraged to attend.

The Bozarts Alliance would like to invite you to come and see our newest show. The alliance has 10 members and these 10 members have each invited an artist they admire to showcase their work.
