After having the week off for Thanksgiving break, the Water Valley Junior High basketball teams returned to the court on Monday night, November 29, to take on the Pirates at Coffeeville.

The seventh grade Lady Devils completed a season sweep of Coffeeville by defeating the Lady Pirates 13-4.  This win improved their record to 4-2 on the year.  The seventh grade boys lost a hard fought contest 21-19.

In eighth grade action, both Water Valley teams came up short.  The girls were defeated by the Lady Pirates 22-7.  Coffeeville’s eighth grade girls are coached by former Water Valley Lady Devil and Delta State standout Bernadette Sayles.  The boys lost by a score of 28-14.

The junior high teams will return to action on December 9, when the Pope Bulldogs come to town.  Action will begin at the Water Valley High School gym at 5.
