Northwest Opens Division Play With Sweep Of Mississippi Delta

SENATOBIA – Northwest opened MACJC North Division play in impressive fashion against Mississippi Delta on Wednesday afternoon, using a quality start from sophomore Tarus Hervey to earn a 9-2 victory in the opener and getting a walk-off three-run home run from freshman Austin Overall in game two to earn the twinbill sweep.

Northwest improved to 10-7 overall and 2-0 in the north, winning the ninth game in 10 tries over the Trojans. Mississippi Delta remained winless on the season at 0-14 overall and 0-2 in division play.
