Blue Devils Earn Medals At Track Meet

ABERDEEN – The Blue Devil track team started their season Friday, competing in a meet at Aberdeen High School. Fifteen of the 21 team members placed in their events against athletes from Caledonia, Louisville, Okolona, Noxubee County, Aberdeen and Calhoun City.

    Blue Devils placing include: Montez Clark, 1st place shot put; Damion Pollard, 4th place discus; Mark Gooch, 4th place high jump; E.J. Bounds, 4th place triple jump; Terry Flemons, Kenon Kirkwood, C.J. Jackson and Eric Buckley, 3rd place 4×100 meter relay; Zach Bobbitt, 4th place 400 meter dash; Devin Fleming, K.J. Lee, Cortaveus Hawkins, Zach Bobbitt, 4th place 4×400 meter relay; Quinterrio Bailey, 4th place 300 meter high hurdles.

    “There were a lot of seventh and eighth graders competing, they are the future of this program so it’s important that we get them experience and time on the track,” Coach Richard Russo reported. Russo and Bryant Mix coach the team.
