April 20 – 22

 Chapel Hill M.B. Church will host three nights of spring revival services April 20, 21, and 22, beginning each night at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1140 CR 118, Water Valley.

  The guest speaker each night will be Rev. Christopher Smith from Greater New Hope Church in Myrtle. He will be accompanied by his church family.

  “Everyone is welcome to come help us lift up and praise the mighty name of Jesus. We look forward to your fellowship and solicit your prayers,” states Rev. C. Jerome Battle, pastor.

Friday, April 22

    First Christian Church’s youth group will have an Easter bake sale Friday, April 22, from 7-11 a.m. in front of Turnage Drug Store. Everyone is invited to come out and buy your Easter goodies from the youth.

Saturday, April 23

    Rocky Mountain M. B. Church will have their first Gospel Explosion April 23, beginning at 5 p.m.

  All churches and choirs are invited to be a part of this event. Those attending are asked to respond to Mary G. Nicholson at (662) 675-2903, or Minister Jeanice Forrest at (901) 370-4930.     “We are excited to lift our Lord up in song. This will be a great opportunity to minister to God’s people through singing. We would be delighted if you would join us,” states Rev. George Forrest, pastor.

    Sanders Chapel M.B. Church will host their first basketball game in their Christian Life Center on Saturday, April 23. The Sanders  Chapel Warriors will play the Bayson Chapel Tigers. The girls will play at 10 a.m., followed by the boys.

  Pastor Mitchell Steen will compete against Pastor Amos Sims in the “Jump Shots for Jesus” contest. Each pastor will have five minutes to make as many jump shots as possible.

  “Please come out and support all of the team players as everyone has fun in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” invites Pastor Steen.

Sunday, April 24

    Camp Ground Baptist Church invites everyone to attend their Easter Services at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 24. There will be old time Bible preaching, and special music. Brunch will be served immediately following the service, and there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. The church is located at 534 CR 110, Water Valley.

  Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church will host the Yalobusha County Nursing Home Devotional Sunday, April 24, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

 Hopewell M.B. Church will celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 24, beginning at 8:45 a.m. “Come out and join the Hopewell Church family and hear the real stroy of ‘Easter Passover’. Come and be blessed,” stated Pastor Lawarence Matthews.

  Woodland Hills Baptist Church will have only one service on Easter Sunday.

  The day will begin at 9 a.m. with breakfast. Following at 10:30 will be the morning worship service.

  “Everyone is invited to join us for breakfast and then for the worship hour,” stated Rev. Ken Izzard, pastor.

Wednesday, April 27

    Sanders Chapel M. B. Church, located in Water Valley, will host its mid-week service on April 27, beginning at 6 p.m.

    “Our very own Minister Geraldine Booker will be the speaker for the night,” stated Pastor Mitchell Steen. “Everyone is invited to come out and share this program with the Sanders Chapel Church family,” concluded pastor Steen.

Sunday, May 1

    Members and guests at Everdale M.B. Church will celebrate the 132nd church anniversary program Sunday, May 1, beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Jamal Johnson, pastor of North Hopewell Baptist Church, will bring the bread of life.

Saturday, May 7

  Ladies Day will be held in Martin St. Church of Christ on May 7, starting with brunch at 8:30-9 a.m. Speakers for the day will be Sister (Dr.) Sharen Cypress and Sister (Dr.) Karen Cypress. Both of these ladies are on the faculty at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn.

  The event will finish with a lunch following the program. Redd Co. Christian Book Store will have a display for eveyone to browse through before and after the program.
