    Yalobusha Baptist Associa-tion urges everyone to remember the National Day of Prayer this Thursday, May 5.

May 6 – 7

    A huge yard and bake sale will be held at the American Legion Building, located behind the Mexican Restaurant  Friday, from 4-7 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m.-12 p.m. . Lots of items will be available. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the Hopewell Baptist Church Youth Fund.

Saturday, May 7

    Ladies Day will be held in Martin St. Church of Christ on May 7, starting with brunch from  8:30 to 9 a.m. Speakers for the day will be Sister (Dr.) Sharen Cypress and Sister (Dr.) Karen Cypress. Both of these ladies are on the faculty at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. The event will finish with a lunch following the program. Redd Co. Christian Book Store will have a display for everyone to browse through before and after the program.

    A cook out sponsored by Chapel Hill Church, which was to be held at Miles C.M.E. Church on Saturday, May 7, has been canceled.

Sunday, May 8

    Sanders Chapel M.B. Church will have their Mother’s Day Program Sunday, May 8, as part of the morning worship service.         Sunday school begins at 7:45 a.m., followed by worship service at 8:35. Minister Ora Kerr will be the speaker.


    The Springhill North Church Family invites everyone to come out and celebrate Mother’s Day with them. This program will be held Sunday, May 8, beginning at 3 p.m. Pastor Mitchell Steen and the Sander Chapel Church Family will be special guests. “Come out and be blessed,” invites Sister Earlene Hairston, president, and Rev. Sammy Townes, pastor.


    Jumpers Chapel Baptist Church will host the Yalobusha County Nursing Home Devotion this Sunday, May 8, beginning at 2:30 p.m.  

May 11 – 13

    Union Hill C.M.E. Church will have their Spring Revival service May 11-13, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Michael Gordon will bring the messages.     “We would be honored to have each and everyone of you share the word of God from a Man of God,” says Rev. Dr. James Johnson, pastor, and the Union Hill Church family.

Sunday, May 22

 Union Hill Church will have their Family and Friends Day Program May 22, beginning at 2:30 p.m.  The guest speaker for the day will be Rev. Charles LeSure. He will be accompanied by his church family. Everyone is invited to attend this special service.

Saturday, May 28

    A gospel singing featuring The Weston Hinson Group will be held at New Life Fellowship in Oakland May 28, beginning at 7 p.m. For more information you may contact Jerry W. Smith, pastor, at (662) 628-0146. A love offering will be taken.

Sunday, May 29

 Sylva Rena Baptist Church will have their Homecoming Celebration Sunday, May 29. The morning worship service will begin at 10 a.m. and end at noon. The speaker for this celebration will be Bro. Walter Simmons. Following this service everyone is invited to lunch in the Family Activity Center.

  At 2 p.m. everyone will move to the sanctuary where Heavens Highway from Mooreville will sing gospel music.
