A bake sale will be held in front of Larson’s Piggly Wiggly Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m.-until. Proceeds will go to the Sylva Rena Relay for Life team.

Barbecue Will Help Defray Medical Expenses For Thompson
A barbecue benefit for Marissa Thompson will be held May 14 at Delay Baptist Church, 233 CR 445, Oxford. All proceeds will be used to help defray the cost of the child’s medical care. VFW Schedules Memorial Day Ceremony
VFW Post 4100, 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley, will have a Memorial Day Ceremony May 30, beginning at 11 a.m., on Main Street at the monument.
In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held at the post home. After the ceremony there will be a free lunch at the post home. “The community is invited to attend this program and lunch,” invites Commander Sam Phillips.

The regular VFW Post 4100 Saturday night dance will be held May 14 in the Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. VFW Bingo will be played Friday night, May 13. Come out and join VFW Post 4100 for a fun filled evening of bingo at their Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley.
The building opens at 5:30 p.m., sales start at 6, and the first of 24 games begins at 7. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
