ENID LAKE – In partnership with the Mississippi Bass Federation, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks will host the second “Camp Fish” on June 6-9 at the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery at Enid Lake.
The free-of-charge day camp will feature classroom and field studies. Students will learn fish identification, fishing tackle, knots, casting, fishing techniques, lure selection, where to fish in Mississippi, fisheries conservation, regulations, sampling techniques, fish aging, tagging, GPS/Sonar, aquatic plant Id, and fish cleaning/preparation.
MDWFP Conservation Officer’s also offer the student’s the full boating education course detailing boating safety and the rules on the water.
Finally, each day will conclude with a session of mentored fishing at the hatchery’s fishing pond.
