Giants Win State Championship

The Yalobusha Giants now have a 77-18 record after winning the Mississippi 8U AAA State Championship in Ridgeland. With sirens blaring and lights flashing, the Yalobusha Giants were paraded through Water Valley Monday afternoon to celebrate their state championship.

RIDGELAND – The Yalobusha Giants 8U AAA travel baseball team swept the competition this past weekend to win the Mississippi 8U AAA state championship in Ridgeland. The team won four consecutive games to win the tournament.

They defeated the Gulf Shore Hurricanes, 11 – 3; the Southaven Mustangs, 12 – 4; the Tupelo Storm, 5 – 2; and the Madison Jaguars, 11- 3.

The Giants are currently the #1 ranked 8U AAA team in the nation and continue to add to an impressive 77-18 record. They will leave for the World Series in Gulf Shores, Ala. this week to finish their 8U season.    

If you are interested in having your son try-out for the Yalobusha Giants Travel Baseball Club, team members will hold individual workouts the second and third week of July (fall baseball begins in August). Please contact Russell Pratt

Yalobusha Giants 7U AA: Players can’t turn 8 before May 1, 2012. This will be a new team – actively looking for coaches and players.
