Art Talk

By Andi Bedsworth

Change is in the air with cooler weather coming in and fall approaching North Mississippi. Bozarts Gallery has changed their opening hours to offer more browsing and shopping time for the community. The gallery will now be open on Thursdays from noon-5 p.m. as well as on Fridays from noon-5 p.m The Saturday hours have changed to 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Bozarts shows new exhibits in the front gallery area as well as showing work from all Bozarts alliance members in the Mirror Gallery. They are also working on offering merchandise from all artists perfect for gift giving in the coming months. Their hope is that the gallery will become a place not only to view fine art work but also a boutique where you can purchase handmade artisan quality gifts for special occasions and holidays, so visit often to see the new offerings.
The gallery is also gearing up for its newest show, Hanging by a Thread, which is a collaboration of five fiber artists and fashion designers who will show how fashion, fiber, and art fuse to create wonderful pieces of art and wearable clothes. There will be hats, sculptural dresses, hanging fiber art and lots of fashion.
Featured in the Mirror Gallery will be work by photographer Angela Clanton. The show will open at the Water Valley Studio Crawl on Sat. Sept. 29 at 5:30pm and will include a fashion show with live models at 9pm. Stay tuned for more information on the Art Crawl in next week’s article.
