4-H Shooting Sports Fundraiser Will Be Held In Coffeeville
The 2nd Annual Yalobusha County 4-H Shooting Sports Fundraiser will be held September 29, with the first shot at 9 a.m. There will be a 3-D Archery Shoot, with 30 3-D targets, 50/50 Cash Pot and Novelty Shoots. Food concessions and homemade ice cream will be available. There will be door prizes.
Come out and support the youth of Yalobusha County. All proceeds go to Yalobusha County Shooting Sports, sponsored by Grenada Bow Hunters. The entry fee will be $15.
The range is located behind Piggly Wiggly on Okahoma Street in Coffeeville. Follow the 3-D signs.
Extension Service Hosts Holiday House
The Yalobusha County Extension Service will host a Holiday House on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Building in Coffeeville. There will be Arts & Crafts Vendors, Holiday Demonstrations and Concessions. Booth spaces are available for $20 or $25 with electricity. Sanders Chapel Hosts Basketball Tournament

Historical Society Plans Yard Sale During Celebrate Coffeeville Day
A yard sale will be held during Celebrate Coffeeville Day on Saturday, Oct. 6 beginning at 8 a.m. in the Yalobusha Historical Society parking lot on Depot Street beside the Presbyterian Church Building in front of its library. The sale is held for the maintenance of the YHS buildings, the Presbyterian Church building and the YHS Library.
Arts Council Sets Meeting Date
The Water Valley Arts Council will be having it’s next meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Water Valley Main Street Association office at 207 N. Main St. at 6:30 p.m. You don’t have to be a member to come to the meeting – Just bring yourself and creative ideas. Topics for discussion will include feedback from the Art Crawl and the upcoming 3rd Community Sing set for early November. Hope to see you there.
Walker Cemetery Cleaning Is Oct. 6

Magnolia Youth League Will Have Flag Football Registration
Registration for Magnolia Youth League NFL Flag Football will be held Saturday, September 29, and Saturday, October 6, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Crawford Sports Complex.
This will be for girls and boys leagues, ages 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12. Registration fee is $45 and October 6 is the last day to register.

At VFW Dance
The regular VFW Post 4100 Saturday night dance will be held this week on September 29 in the Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Entertainment will be provided by Prime Country from 8 p.m. until midnight.

VFW Sponsors Bingo Action
VFW bingo will be played on Monday and Friday Nights, September 28 and October 1. Come out and join VFW Post 4100 for a fun filled evening of bingo at their Post Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. The building opens at 2 p.m. on Monday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons for playing electronic VLC bingo machines. Regular bingo session sales start at 6 pm. and the first of 24 games begin at 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to play.
Operation Christmas Child Countdown Event Is Sept. 30
Anyone interested in packing shoeboxes for a child for Christmas is asked to join us for the Operation Christmas Child countdown event Sunday, Sept. 30 from 2 until 4 p.m. in the Activity Center Youth Room at First Baptist Church in Water Valley. Lafayette Springs Reunion Is October 6
The Lafayette Springs School Reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Primitive Baptist Church in Lafayette Springs. All who attended the school and friends and neighbors who lived near it in those days are invited to attend.
Former classmates will gather around 10 a.m., visit and exchange memories, then have a pot luck lunch of sandwiches, salads, and desserts.
Everyone is encouraged to make notes of all the memories about people and places (stores, churches, businesses) and people of the Lafayette Springs of “yester year!”
