Yalobusha General Hospital Community Blood Drive
 
Yalobusha General Hospital will be holding a community blood drive on Tuesday, January 8, from 1 – 5 p.m. The
Mississippi Blood Services Donor Coach will be parked on site. All donors will receive a free T-shirt.
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent, visit our Web site for a copy of the form), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID.


Private Applicators Training Will Be Held January 15

There will be a private applicators training on Tuesday, January 15, at 9 a.m. at the Yalobusha County Multi-Purpose Building.  The training will last approximately two hours and cost $10. Remember, to buy restricted chemicals you must have this license.  If you need additional information on this, please contact the Extension  office at (662) 675-2730.

Geenen Will Speak At Local Home

Katrina Geenen, local artist, vocalist and Brazilian music historian/lover, will give a lecture at the home of Pati D’Amico and Bill Warren at 200 Panola St on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Water Valley Arts Council Meeting Scheduled For January 8

The Water Valley Arts Council will have it’s next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Water Valley Main St. Association office, 207 N. Main St.  
Items for discussion include the Come As You Aren’t Fundraiser, Bike and Shopping Cart Parade, Poetry Night, and more. You do not have to be an Arts Council member to attend. Just come with good cheer and fresh ideas. For more information call Ramona Bernard at 473-9851 or Bill Warren at 473-0972.

Exercise Class Resumes  January 7

The Extension Service will reopen on Friday, January 4tat 8 a.m. and the Healthy You Exercise Class will resume on Monday, January 7th If becoming healthy was your New Year’s Resolution then join the group for up to 45 minutes of physical activity.  Wear cool, comfortable clothes, good walking shoes and bring water to drink.


Thursday’s Lunch And Learn Sessions Return January 10

On Thursday, January 10th  Lunch and Learns will return at noon.  Lynette McDougald from The University Florist on the MSU Campus will be the speaker via Interactive Video. Her program is titled “New Year’s Resolutions.”
During the program Lynette will discuss tools of the floral trade: Where to acquire these tools, how to use and care for the tools.  She will also discuss proper hydration and care of fresh flowers as well as sanitation requirements for successful floral design.
