Saturday, January 19
    The pastor and church family of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church extends an invitation to all church families in Yalobusha County and beyond to come and be a part of a most wonderful occasion on Saturday, January 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. At this time Minister Lee Virgie Matthews, Jr., who accepted a higher calling into the ministry, will present his initial sermon.
    “Let’s come together and support this young man of God who is about his Father’s business as we fellowship one with another. We encourage your participation in our efforts,” stated Pastor Kevin Lee, Sr.

Sunday, January 20
    Green Goshen C.M.E. Church will have a birthday tea at 2:30 p.m. on January 20.
    “Join us in ‘thanking God’ for being born to serve!,” states Rev. Sheryn Brown, pastor, and the Green Goshen Church family. Rev. Louise Hawkins, local preacher, and the Mt. Grove M.B. Church family, will be special guests.
  “We welcome your pastor, choirs, soloists participation, offering, and prayers. We are looking forward to fellowshipping with you during our birthday tea. Dinner will be served following morning worship service,” stated Rev. Brown.

    Filling the pulpit at Woodland Hills Baptist Church Sunday January 20, during both the morning and evening services, will be Rev. Hal Clark, Minister of Youth and Education at Water Valley First Baptist Church. Everyone is cordially invited to attend these services. Morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and the evening service starts at 6:15 p.m.

Sunday, January 27
  Smith Chapel M.B. Church, Coffeeville, will have a Pastor’s and Wife’s, Elder and Mrs. Richard Smith, 12-year appreciation program Sunday, January 27, at 2:30 p.m.
    Minister Melvin Brock will bring the morning message and Pastor Mitchell Steen of Sanders Chapel M.B. Church, along with his choir and church family will be special guests for the afternoon appreciation service.
  Please come out and show your love and support for this devoted man and woman of God. Lunch will be served immediately following the morning service. Preceding the appreciation program on Sunday, the church will have three nights of praise and worship January 23-25, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Minister Leonard Williams of the Williams Brothers Quartet of Jackson will bring the word on these nights.

Sunday, February 10
    Everdale M.B. Church will have the annual Black History Program Sunday, February 10, beginning at 3 p.m. Minister Marcus Dudley, pastor of Kingdom Movement Church, will be the guest speaker. Everdale is located at 410 Calhoun Street in Water Valley.

February 10 – 12
  A gospel singing and revival  will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church February 10-12. The church is located at 77 CR 327, Big Creek. “The Trailsmen” Quartet from Tupelo will jump-start the revival with a singing from 10-11 a.m. on Sunday morning, February 10.
  Dr. Clarence Cooper, former pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada and also of New Liberty Baptist in Calhoun City, will be the guest evangelist. Services will begin on Sunday night, February 10, at 6 p.m., with Monday-Thursday services beginning at 7 p.m. J. D.
