Pleasant Agers will meet February 20 in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Calhoun County on County Road 231, across the railroad on the left. A potluck lunch will be served at 12 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. J. R. Eaton, pastor of Mt. Comfort Baptist Church.
Thursday, Feb. 21
The annual lenten Luncheons have returned at First United Methodist Church. Take a pause in your day’s occupation to join us for lunch. The annual series begins Thursday, February 21, in the Fellowship Hall and continues every Thursday noon through Lent. A light lunch will be provided at no charge, followed by a program of music and worship. Invited speakers come from churches throughout the area.
Saturday, Feb. 23
The observance of Black History Month will be held in Pleasant Grove Church Saturday, February 23, beginning at 6 p.m.
This year’s celebration will be presented in the form of a musical, featuring instrumentals, solos, and choral groups, and narrated by a spirit-filled orator detailing the role of gospel music in the advancement of black people. Pastor C. J. Battle will deliver the address for the occasion.
Everyone is cordially invited to Rocky Mt. M.B. Church’s annual Black History Program Saturday evening, February 23, beginning at 5 p.m. Minister Veda Hankins, who is the Missionary Director for the Mt. Moriah District Association, will be the evening speaker. Food will be served. Rev. George Forrest is the host pastor.
Sunday, Feb.24
Harris Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church will have their Black History Program on Sunday, February 24, along with the regular morning worship service, which begins at 11 a.m.

Pastor Larry J. Hervey and Truly Blessed will celebrate their first year anniversary at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church February 24, beginning at 11 a.m. The church is located at 21967 Highway 7, Coffeeville.
Featured guests will include Anointed Spiritual Voices of Winona, The Mighty Gospel Warriors of Bruce, The Gospel Tones of Water Valley, The Inspirational Voices from Charleston, The Silver Tones of Grenada, Rev. Cleveland Alexander and family of Water Valley, and The Smith Brothers from Grenada.
Mistress of Ceremonies will be Mrs. Wilma R. Forrest.

Mt. Liberty Church’s Music Night will be Sunday, February 24. Guest musicians will be Heidi and Brian Brasher from Starkville.
Brian is Minister of Music for Adaton Baptist Church in Starkville and Heidi is an extremely talented musician, pianist and music teacher.
