Rocket Launch 1-2-3 Helps Girls And Boys To Explore Their Future
Join Girl Scouts Heart of the South for Rocket Launch 1-2-3, a unique program open to girls and boys to explore their future. Rocket Launch 1-2-3 will the held at Davidson Elementary during the school day. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be March 3-8 and 3rd through 5th grades will be March 18-22. Cost is $6 per person.
Through this fun and interactive program participants will develop their leadership skills, explore their future and have an out of this world good time. Stop by the DES office to pick up a registration form. Deadline for registration is Feb. 15.
Superintendent Addresses Retired Educators At Meeting
There will be a Retired Educators’ Personnel meeting at the Mt. Moriah District Association Building, located at 3657 CR 211, Coffeeville, on Thursday, February 28, beginning at 10 a.m.. To help organizers complete plans for the meeting, please call in your attendance to 662-675-8255 or 662-675-2920.
Members and future members are invited to attend. A regular member is any person who is a retired teacher, administrator, or any other person who has been employed by any educational institution.
The speaker for this meeting will be Mr. Kim Chrestman, Superintendent of Water Valley Schools. Please plan to attend and bring a door prize to be given away. Refreshments will be provided.
Jeff Davis Water Association Sets Annual Meeting Date
The Jeff Davis Rural Water Association will hold its annual meeting March 4, beginning at 7 p.m., in the association’s building, located at 13589 Highway 32 West, Water Valley.
All members are encouraged to attend.
Magnolia Baseball/Softball Sign-up Is Feb. 23 And March 2
Sign-up for Magnolia Youth League Baseball/Softball will begin Saturday, February 16, from 9 a.m. until 12 Noon. February 23 and March 2 are also days to sign up. Nurse Anesthetist Provides Autism Information At YHS Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet Thursday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. in its headquarters (the former Presbyterian Church) in Coffeeville. The guest speaker will be Judy Brasher from Holcomb. Judy is a retired nurse anesthetist. Her topic will be “Environmental Factors Affecting Autism.” Visitors are welcome.
Lost Tyme Performs At The Pickin’ Shed In Banner
On Friday, February 22, there will be live bluegrass music with Lost Tyme (Rusty Pinion, Jerry Haynie, Jerry Ragland, and Billy Van Clark) performing at The Pickin’ Shed, Hwy 9W, in Banner, beginning at 7 p.m.
Without a Doubt and other singers will also perform.
Saturday night, February 23, is karaoke night at The Pickin’ Shed. The action gets underway at 7p.m.
Water Valley Caregiver Group Schedules First Meeting
The first meeting of the Water Valley caregiver group will be held Thursday, March 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Mechanics Bank. After that, the group will meet every first Thursday of the month.
